I do agree though in some ways, everyone considers themselves a "photographer", which is completely fine, however I have an issue with those that consider themselves a professional. Professional is a fairly lose term anyways, since some consider themselves pro if they get paid for what they do, which is completely fine, but I only hold a few certain people on that pedestal. Some people consider a pro by the types and quality photos they put out.

Nobody here on this site, nor most people you know make a living off photography. Its risky and the market is saturated with "professionals". Theres one difference though, they know people in the business and usually get further that way.


Hence, to my next point. We are all mainly freelance, working odd jobs. Personally speaking I do primarily wedding photography. It pays well, hours are decent, and it has the least amount of downtime. I do automotive work only for magazines and occasionally people that ask me to ( I do afterall enjoy it, just dont have the time). Anyways, I wouldnt take someone calling themselves "XX Photography" personal, its just something they are branding.

What are you trying to prove? Call out someone in particular or just making a general QQ fest?

It doesn't take a lot of skill to take really really good pictures.
It takes a TON of skill to take an amazing picture. That or a hell of a lot of luck.


Someone enjoys something and you knock them? I have a DSLR, I take pictures.

Am I a pro photographer, no. Do I take some pictures that turn out really well, yes.


And like others said, you have to start somewhere. Quit trying to bi*ch about ricerphotography.
