Calling all WoW & Halo Lamers

So my friend and I got into an arguement

Argument was people that play wow also play halo and thats all

I dissagree, I classify all halo/madden/gta players also play wow and thats it! And they call themselves gamers

so theres the poll

Also do you think you are a gamer? What constitues a gamer? Explain

My personal opinion. To call yourself a gamer means you have to go through more than 1 console war generation + play multiple genres over the years

All these millions of new gamers are all WoW/halo/madden/gta fanatics and have only been playing games for a few years

i used to be seriously addicted to halo2.. but halo 3 was a disappointment, and i hate it now..

But i can only play certain games now that i know will be good...too much garbage comin out these days.

Wow only. I'm good at unreal and quake/cod4 on the pc, but i suck at xbox or anything with a joystick instead of mouse/keys to move.

I remember playing FF7 for hours and hours after school everyday. Those were the days. I have been through most all console wars so far. I had a ColecoVision, then the original NES, then the Super NES, then the Nintendo 64, then the PS1, then the PS2, then the XBox, and now the XBox 360. Also had the original Game Boy in there somewhere. I've been gaming for 25 years now. :D

Oh yeah, so far it is...... COD4>Halo>GRAW>BF2>Everything else>Watching grass grow>WoW. :yes:

Well... the poll is flawed cause it's missing a WoW and other games option.. That'd be me. I play WoW, Madden, NCAA, MLB 2k8, GTA4, etc etc. I dont play Halo though.... As a general rule, if I want to play FPS, I use my computer.

Halo 2 ftw. Way better than Halo 3 IMO. Don't have that much time to play video games, but I still manage to get on Halo 2 a few times a week.

I just "retired" from playing WoW after 3 straight years of playing. I've been in two of the US's top raiding guilds over that course of time, and had one High Warlord PvP char pre-TBC.

I also follow the Halo series, but nothing serious.

What constitutes a "gamer"? I'm not going to assume I have a direct definition, but I have always considered myself one. I've got an NES, N64, Sega, DC, GC, XBox, 360, PSX, PS2, PSP, Wii, and multiple Gameboys laying around in my collection (I STILL need a SuperNES, and obviously a PS3 :ninja:!).

I have been playing MMO's online for years as well; most of which consist of Blizzard PC games (StarCraft, BroodWars, Diablo (I, II, IIexp), Warcraft III). I'm into FPS, MMOs, Racing, and fighting games (need moar SoulCalibur plzthnx!). I could go on and on... but I won't.

Oh, and I've also had a 1up.com account for some years (deleted it a month or two ago because of annoying myspace-esque friend invites) and am a regular over at IGN and gamefaqs.com forums.

I'm also trying to make it to BlizzCon this year.. :ninja:

LMAO I loved Super Tecmo Bowl. I downloaded an emulator just to play it again not too long ago. Im currently waiting for it to show up on the virtual console on the Wii

To say "All" of the people who play WoW/Madden/GTA are newbies is pretty retarded... In your words, I've been through many "console wars". Sega Master, NES, SNES, N64, DC, 3DO (ya, thats right, I wasted my moms money on that thing lol), PS1 & 2, Xbox and now I'm the 360. Just because I prefer those types of games now, doesn't mean I didn't originally play all the other kind of stuff. Another nice thing about sports game is you can play it and drop it real quick, so it doesn't tie up too much of your time.
