Easy thing to do is to show up to court. Most likely a DA will drop the points, change it to a road rules violation, and you pay the fine.

Paying the fine is easier than dealing with the points.

Give them a call and ask. Also, ask if you can reschedule your court date because of your situation.

i have no real reason to contest it. so id rather just pay the fine and be done with it. get it over with, its my first ticket of any kind since fall of 05.

oh i understand but im just wandering about the points. is it 3 points that go on your lincese? im just trying to figure it out. cuz im sure i have some points on it from my previous 2 speeding tickets i got when i was 17. on my second one the soliciter extended my court date two times if i remember correctly so i could turn 18 and not loose my license. then the judge said i better not get a ticket till im 21 which i am now. so yeah. im just trying to figure it out so that i wont have a chance of loosing my license. how man points does it take to do that?

I got one of these a month ago.. its getting dropped :D You will pay what the website says unless your judge lowers it..

But yeah, like gforce said, its a 3 point violation..

I think it is like 12 or 15 point to lose your license, but don't quote me on that.

yeah i just read it on the georgia department of driver services it says

The Department is authorized to suspend your license if its records or other evidence shows that you have accumulated 15 points within 24 months under the point system, including violations committed out of state.

my last ticket was in the summer of 05...
