This is one of my buddies 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T at Commerce a couple Fridays ago.

R/T - .419
60' - 2.662
330 - 6.652
1/8 - 9.704
MPH - 83.82
1000 - 12.247
1/4 - 14.358
MPH - 108.28

If he gets his 60 ft time down, will his trap increase?

Depends on how much he was spinning, but more than likely no.

ET yes(decrease), trap, prolly not.

I.M.O it would go up if the gearing stayed the same from my limited experience. I don't see how reducing grip would increase overall speed. The sooner you put the power down the sooner you will get to speed. Am I wrong, i'm not a drag racer.

Looking at the 60' and 1/8 I can tell that he spins a lot, especially trapping so high for such a high ET but yes however much he can decrease his 60' then it should decrease the ET by the that amount.

Yeah I see your point but that's not always how it is at the strip. For the most part the less grip you have the higher your trap will be; but if you were to use slicks your ET will decrease and the trap would either stay the same or be a tad slower for some reason.

I just dont see how that works but I have also seen it myself. I'll talk to someone who knows their physics tomorrow. Most of the time I see traps decreasing with slicks because it changes the gearing, although in most situations if the gearing is not drastically changed (shortened or widened) the trap goes up...For example, Most ZO6's trap 121-125 but the fastest time ever recorded was done on slicks at 10.85@128.
