30 minutes calling microsoft for my xbox to get routed back to america to speak to someone who spoke english. the first lady i got for customer support didnt even understand my email, becuase the "@" symbol confuzed her over the phone. so i hung up on her, the second time back i got to speak with someone named marvin with a indian accent. next time i call some place like this, i am just going to ask right away to speak to someone is america! :2up:

thats a common misconception. bet you didn't know more jobs are lost every year to the advancement in technology then outsourcing to other countries.

lol .. the situation isn't any better for calls routed to some center in the U.S. I called Sony Ericsson US tech support the other day (TX) and those idiots had no idea how to resolve a simple problem and kept pushing for an RMA. Turns out I had to do a simple recalibration of the touch screen.

unless you have a common problem calling a CSR for anything more than an RMA number is pointless. They arent techs, they just answer phones and put your answers into a prompt which then feeds them the next question to ask, or a possible remedy.

Yes, there is. Try IBM's regular customer support # and then call the tech support #. Incidentally, tech support's based out of Dunwoody. You'll be pleasantly surprised. :)
P.S.: No, I don't work for tech support.

I admit, you might come across a exception once in a while, but try calling Tech support for Dell. they are simply reading off a prompt just like CSR's do.
