Finally. I've been wanting to get into a little run with one of these for a long time and i finally got my chance. Both my car and the Elise have a hp/lb ration that's very close.
I was heading home from BP just kinda minding my own business when i noticed some strange tail lights at the light ahead of me. As i approach the light it goes green and i see a Elise pulling away. Hmmmmm. He wasn't driving like grandpa either. So i pull up next to him and give a friendly lurch to say "i'm ready to play". He take it and pulls up next to me. It get's better. Right as we line up, the light in front of us goes red. Oh... now it's a showdown from a dig. See, i was a bit worried about a dig because he has far more weight over his back wheels, giving him an advantage. Not to mention he is 500lbs lighter than me. So we sit there...waiting calmly. Neither one of us revvs or gives and warning that a battle is going down. I like this... both of us are going to have to go from idle and it's a matter of who can utilize the clutch and throttle the best. Green. I roll on the throttle and the clutch hard... he is going the same. Wheelspin follows as soon as im all the way off the clutch pedal and he is right next to me....until i catch traction.
I'm wondering if he hears the turbo and knows he is about to be had.Pop second with a little protest from the rear wheels...and pulling hard. All of 2nd and 3rd are the same. From 0-70 i get an easy 4 cars on him before i shut it down. He rolls past me and gives a thumbs up before dipping off down another street.
