i have the pioneer dehp6000ub and i really like it. its easy to use, good eq, clean sound, and the usb is a lot faster than the old ip bus for the ipod that the old pioneer's used to have. i think it sounds almost like i have a 4 channel in my car

Well do you want the best head unit out, or do you want something that has the options you want?

I prefer Eclipse head units myself. Great sound quality, most basic options are there, clean looks, and no detachable face plates.

The title of the thread is "best headunit out !"....
and now, you wnat a CD player with ipod for $250 or less.

Which is it?

The best? or CD with ipod for <$250?

Eclipse, Panasonic, Alpine...they all make somethign that should fit your needs. (as long as you are over the "best", and looking for <$250).

I like the Panasonic first for under $250 range...but thats just an opinion.

best and under $250 arent even going to be in the same paragraph. Now if you want to spend 2500 there are a few options out there for you, but none of these will be Ipos friendly.

Also the Eclipse CD3200 is about 250 from crutchfield, but it will require a seperate module for an Ipos

there are a ton of units with the ipod cable for less than 200. the sony 420ip and 620ip come to mind. the 820ip has graphics and its 230. jvc also makes a couple that are under 200. you dont need the "hookup" to get a head unit with ipod cable for less than 250...

you can definately go wrong with Alpine if you want high voltage pre-outs. $1600 head unit (DVA9965) with 4v preouts is a joke.

yea but i seriously doubt he is gonna go with a 1600 dollar radio. in that case it not the radio that makes the car but what you have to tune it

Alpine never had high voltage pre-outs in the past, they just sucked for that. I have always liked Alpine though, and the power has never bothered me.
I have used Premier P1R and P9 and have always loved Pioneer's whole line. What this guy is looking for is going to be found at any Best Buy around. Just look for the full speed Ipod hookup and be happy. Don't fall for any cheesy gimmicks like the Kameleon face crap that used to sell radios.
