People are so stupid wanting to ban concealed weapons altogether. Criminals are going to carry concealed weapons regardless of what bill gets passed or what laws ban it. You might as well allow law-abiding citizens (who have been fingerprinted and had their background checked) to be in a position to protect themselves against such criminals.

I just went on the ga legislation website and read the entire HB89. They made more changes than I thought. *** Walks outside to put a round in the chamber of wifes carry pistol in her POV*** Back on subject.. I think it is awesome that they changed the location the weapon had to be at in the vehicle. Now it can be anywhere and loaded! Neat..
I think it was also a good idea to make it a no drinking policy while carrying a gun in a restaurant. Now instead of the DD excuse for not drinking you can simply reply... I'm Packin.. haha..

thing is though, w/this bill passing, it means you can no longer have any alcohol in you at ANY time you're carrying in public.

I dont disagree with that. I wouldnt want to be under the influence while having my gun on me anyway.

I don't disagree with that. A guy in Memphis (illegally) carried his gun at a bar, got drunk and got in a fight, and ended up killing a guy. He will be in jail for a loooooooong time.
I am all for being able to carry in more places, but alcohol makes people do stupid things.

that is not what the bill says. The bill says you cannot drink while your carrying the weapon. It does not say that you cannot have alcohol in your system. Google the actual bill and read it. Very informative.

thank you!
the bill says that you can carry your weapon into a place that serves alcohol UNLESS the business earns more thatn 50% of their sales from alcohol (aka a BAR).

right, so basically if you've had ONE beer, then end up going out to eat, you cannot carry inside.
i also agree that you shouldn't intoxicated when carrying but i find it slightly annoying you can no longer have a drink w/a meal.

ehh, I dont like beer w/my food anyway. Fine for me.

No, sir private property... every single time I see a person with a gun (having a GFL) police ask them to leave or leave the gun in the car.

Yes you do. And most people would agree. The only legal place I dont carry to is the shower, and thats the only environment I wont put a weapon through on a daily basis. But ill be dammed if its not within arms reach 24/7.

Perfectly legal to carry on private property. Malls are tricky, most do not allow firearms unfortunately. This is why you are "asked to leave" apposed to written up for unlawful carry (or similar).

if they don't know you carry then they won't be asking you to leave ;)

malls are tricky and just because there's a sign saying firearms are not allowed doesnt mean they arent.I was in abor place mall the other day I must have saw 6 real cops.So what does that say?
