People buying this car aren't going to be the same people buying the new GTR.

Federal R34 GTR's are 90-100K.

Buddy of mine sold his federal 33 GTR for 67K with higher miles and less mods.

Thanks.

I've seen this car in person and talked to owner.

Great guy and car is certainly worth the change if you want to be part of the Skyline history.

Let's keep the negative opinions out of this thread anyway, as I'm sure 99% of the people on this board don't have half of the asking price.

Good luck Bryant!

Let's get a photoshoot done before you let this thing go...shoot me a PM or something.

where your logic fails is that this is NOT A NEW SKYLINE.

Unless i missed it somewhere this is a R33GTR NOT a R35GTR.

THe market price for a NON LEGAL R33 is between 45-55K. This is one of the LAST FEDERALLY LEGAL (meaning you can title it in Cali if you wanted to) R33 GTRs in the COUNTRY. It might be the one with the lowest miles too.

Your comparing apples to oranges. You cant compare a COLLECTOR car with a NEW PRODUCTION CAR.

THere are still 60s an 70s vettes that bring $80-100K, but why buy those when you can get a C6 for $75K with a warranty? the answer is because cars are worth "XXXXXX" amount of dollars due to their RARITY and MARKET VALUE.

EG Hatches blue book at $1000 but they sell for $3000-4000.

I could go on an on and but i dont want to ruin his thread.

people that are serious will contact him and those people know what the last few MOTOREX cars have sold for.

is there anyway to ban noobs just for not being observant enough???

i mean just a temp ban would be sufficient.

ANYWAY. car is amazing, seen it in person. i live in an apartment so theres no way in hell i could ever have a car like this haha, im scared enough leaving my del sol out at night and i take my steering wheel with me and have an alarm! maybe im too paranoid but man i would treat this car like i was driving the effing pope mobile.

good luck on a sale sir, maybe an IA big hitter will step up but i doubt it. honda-tech would def. be a much better marketplace, which you being a member and all... im sure you have it posted already.

Sick car man, priced alittle high but awesome and clean, GLWS!

There are some people on here that act like they've owned a skyline, Just like Mike said, couldnt be said any better. I ve seen the car in person and it is not one of those ebay skyline were its 55k and theres a couple of blemishes in the paint or there is a panel missing and has minor HKS bolt ons, and sometimes high mileage:no: . IT Is legit and very clean and fully built. SO between 60 to 70K... Is a very very fair price.

Clean ride, but I've got a question.

MotoRex went under for all kinds of messed up bullsh*t that was going on behind the scenes. Are you sure that the paperwork is legit? I'm sure you've got it sorted out, but I figured I'd ask just to be safe for potential buyers.

Good luck with the sale. :goodjob:

No problem man. Yes, everything is 100% legit.

All of the motorex cars, no matter what year they are, what year they are titled as, etc etc. are 100% good and aren't leaving and can't be kicked out, etc. Everything that's here is staying and 100% legitimate. Hope that helps.

good luck on the sale, i'd suggest a lower price being that everyone will start seeing 96-98 33's for sale here within the later parts of this year for much less now with the compliance information being made public by the nhtsa.

motorex had some outrageous prices on their cars so i understand for your selling price, good luck though... i wouldn't mind having that car

I would make you a $40,000 bet that you can't get a R33 96-98 GTR Federally and Cali emissions legal. That is you taking the whole car through the entire process, s$#t, I will even buy the car from you after you are done with it. You keep saying you are going to start importing them and make them legal so lets see you do it.

What in the world makes you think that it is not possible to import a 96-98 model R33, BCNR/HCR/ECR. It is listed as non-conforming able to be brought into compliance and acceptable. Additionally you are talking to me like I am new to the game and have no clue what is going on.

For your FYI I have personally imported 1 94 RX-7, which I sold.
I now drive a 95 R33
I have a 93 Special Edition RX-7 and a 94 RX-7 that is arriving state-side shortly along with a container full of motors, trannys and other parts.

I lived in Japan for 3 1/2 years, I can tell you the exact ins and outs of both sides of shipping a vehicle, from export to import. So yes, I do keep saying I will be importing Skylines because I will, but first in order to get things going in a legal matter I have to wait for my North Carolina Business license to be signed off as well as the request to the NHTSA to be a Registered Importer. As I've told many, I will have things running later this year but it's not just a simle point click and teleport for such things.

considering a R33 Motorex GTR VSPEC just sold in Dupont Registry for $63000, his price is justified.

ANyone that thinks this car is overpriced has ZERO knowledge of what this car really is.

MOTOREX R34s are selling for $95,000-100,000.

This car is FEDERALLY LEGAL, and you CANNOT IMPORT ANY MORE LIKE THIS EVER AGAIN UNDER TODAYS RULES.

How can you import a 96-98 R33 GTR an make it FEDERALLY LEGAL when there is NO OBD2 DIAGNOSTICS ON BOARD? YOu gonna make your own system ?

That is why the 1995 cars are so rare an everyone wants them, they can pass SNIFFER TESTS since they are OBD1. THe feds said 96-98 R33s would be ok to import, but they know that you can NEVER make them road legal because they will NEVER be able to pass emissions.

I know the owner of this car pretty well and i have read the Federal Bond paperwork, its limits an rules, and what is allowed an not allowed. ITS VERY CLEAR in its language.

He will sell the car for near his asking price, he just has to find the right buyer

On March 13, 2008, the NHTSA added addendums to the rules as they apply to the crash tested R33's. The previously mentioned Confidentiality Agreement with Motorex/J.K. Motorsports has expired, thus the steps required to legally modify R33's has been released. The only information not included in the disclosure concerns EPA required OBD modifications. Full disclosure is available for review: NHTSA-update.pdf

http://www.nicoclub.com/articles/skyline-import-2.shtml

Skyline models that are over 25 years old may be imported without having to be compliant with the NHTSA. Alternatively, Motorex imported a variety of R33 Skylines which are Federally legal and registered appropriately. Motorex-prepped R33 Skylines can fetch upwards of $50,000. Even though the R32 and R34's that were already imported are not technically legal due to their lack of crash tests, they do have a Federal bond release issued and were imported prior to the Motorex violations coming to light. These appear to have been "grandfathered" in. Good luck finding one for sale.

You are paying for a $20k vehicle plus the money spent to ship/handle and bring the vehicle into compliance. Motorex obtained a privacey and sole rights to these vehicles which allowed them to create their own pricings.

Saying it is impossible and will never be legal is just not so. I am not trying to come accross in a agressive manner but just because you do not personally know of a means to bring the vehicle into compliance does not mean it does not exist or will not. You are correct that these vehicles are not OBDII, hence there is no emissions in Japan at all. It actually is quite easy to create a OBDII system with at least 2 knowledgable engineers and the appropriate tools/equipment (dynapack, scan tools, cadsoft, unix for programming, etc.) It is far from impossible and understand why so many say it is not going to happen. Personally I could care less if anyone here beleives me or not or thinks it's going to happen, cause it is and will. I have the facilities and means to make it happen and I've just been keying into the local area to let people know "hey, here is what I am working on and what I will be providing".

Yup, that was posted in the Nissan section here by someone else. The complete requirment list for bringing the vehicles into compliance is now public meaning ANY RI/ICI can legally bring these in and bring them into compliance.

Lastley, I only want people to aware of the facts and not hear second or third hand word from naysayers that these cars are worthless or something is impossible. I may not agree with some sellings prices that people have but to each their own and it's still a great car which will make something happy.

Why don't you just give Clark at Jim Wolf Technology a call 619 442-0680, he built a OBDII prototype for Motorex and will sell you the schematic for $100,000 and build a unit for each car you bring in for $15,000 a piece. You said you have the means to do it right. Then you can get started on your crash tests. Do you need the phone # of who to call for the crash tests, I have that too. Make sure it is a NHTSA approved location.

The car is sweet, but the fact that it's TopSpeed tuned, kills it for me.

They totally messed up my Evo VIII so bad I had to trade it in for a IX.

GL with the Sale.

When you really start doing anything with GTR's you will quickly realize that there are 2 great days during its ownership, the day you get it and the day you sell it. The cars are great until they start having problems and then they just become a big drain. For the money you can have much faster and easier to service cars that people other than fanbois recognize. After as much as I've done with GTR's I'm glad we're selling our last one once I'm done with it.

I love the GTR but the GTS is just as nice. RB26 vs RB25 there are obvious differences but you can juice just as much power. The GTS4 models are fun as well for the AWD, essentially it's the poor man's GTR which a lot of guys love to mix match the RB26 heads with.

I thought you were asking almost $70k for this and I saw people saying good price. Are you still asking that? Just curious. Because I've owned R32 and a couple R33's, couple GTR's, a GTS-t and a GTS, and RB25's are NO match for RB26's, just so you know. I thought I saw that on here too. Not thrashing your thread but I've owned a few of these.

where your logic fails is that this is NOT A NEW SKYLINE.

BUMPUnless you are retarded this is america jack, so you can't compare this Gt-r 33 to vettes of the 50s, 60s, or 70s. Those are true collectors items from a time when we weren't even born. They have symbolic value that a skyline doesn't. Also Moe bought his fully legal GT-R 33 for 40k, rupertaker has a nice car, but 65k is a little too high and I understand it has low miles. I am in the market for a GTR, but at that price I will buy a new one with a warranty.
