I tried to resize multiple times on photobucket but my patience ran thin and I said **** it.
Anyways APril 12, 2008. I was heading down the road in the slow lane. Lady pulled out in a 2001 Izuzu Rodeo from the opposite side of the road. She was in the fast lane for about 2 seconds (literally) and decides to get in the slow lane without looking, or either she just couldn't see me. I put on brakes, but I knew I was going to hit her. Basically my drivers side fender/hood/rim damage is from me just hitting her truck. My car was lowered approx 2+ inches on 18" rims. Anyways she knocked my car up on the curb right at the corner of the curb. My car flipped. I'm assuming its because my rim hit my fender and since it couldn't curb hop because it didn't have the room, it just flipped over. However, I really don't know the exacts to why it flipped.
It did one complete flip and came back down on the tires. However my tires were still spinning. So, my car kept going and I had to slam it on brakes to stop it. It did go back in to traffic in the slow lane that I'd just come off of. Luckily I was conscious, or only lord knows what I would have hit, or what would have hit me if I didn't stop the car. I was however in shock, because I never in 29387343 years expected my car to flip, even though I knew I was going to hit her like 2 seconds before I slammed in to her. They took me to the hospital, and I've had the xrays, c-scans, etc. No broken bones. Just had a lot of bruising and I'm going to the chiropractor for the next few weeks. I can't put my head all the way back, and I can't put it all the way down. He's worked with me enough that I can look left and right. My pain at one point was so bad, that even Lortab wouldn't take the pain away.
She was held at fault. I still owed on the car so the insurance company paid the car off with the lien holder. Car is in ATL right now @ Verastar waiting to be sold at auction. I didn't want to buy it back because the car has been in atleast 3 wrecks...so the frame will never be the same. Anyways they aren't piecing the car to sorry to anyone that wanted to snatch maybe motor, suspension parts. Motor was still running even after it flipped. I'm the only one allowed to get parts off of it, but I have to switch it out with OEM parts since I was paid for what was on the car when they towed it up to ATL for the evaluation. Anyways, thats why I haven't been on. Been dealing with the aftermath of this:

Damn that sucks.... and ignore the flood of "God hates rice" type comments that I'm sure will be coming... you're ok, and that's a hell of a wreck to come away from. I'm surprised it flipped! That's insane. But good for you for having the clarity of mind to get it stopped, and I'm glad you came away from it with minimal injury.
PS... If you argue with her insurance company, you can usually get them to cover the mods as well since the car is totalled.. that way you don't have to deal with taking them off (the stuff that's still usable) and you don't have a complete loss for the stuff like that fender and cf hood that aren't still usable. I would file a claim for the price of the aftermarket stuff... she wrecked your car, she should pay for ALL of it... not just the price of a stock car.

if you have receipts they will give you a percentage of what you paid...the accord that they totaled out had 33,753 $ from the previous owner invested in it...i made good off that one and bought it back for 350$...

oh I already know rice comments are coming. And like before, doesn't bother me.
as far as insurance, we both had the same insurance company so they settled everything quickly. they did cover the mods since i had insurance through them for aftermarket parts. the camber kit, hood, and rims is what really helped the value of the car. i'm taking the rims, hood, and skunk2 camber kit off as soon as i can get a ride up there to do it. i luckily have replacement parts for all of those. i dont have a replacement for that 1 fender though...car was valued @ $5279 or something like that...which is good since i slaughtered the value by doing all of that stuff to it. i dont think they noticed the car was lowered, i think they assume the wreck did it. now since i owed on the car still, i get no money from it...but atleast i get to start over, and get a 5sp this time.

I thought about buying it back...heard it would be around $800-$1000. but i decided its not worth it to me. i would have to do so much to get it back road ready, and i dont have a secondary car. so i'm just going to get what i can off it, and just start anew. its already been in 2 wrecks with me, plus 1 wreck with the previous owner. the car really isn't worth putting more money in to.
and thnx, it excites me to start on something new. i've learned from my mistakes of this honda, and know suspension & performance things go in a certain order...so i refuse to make the same mistake twice. also i don't know if i will body kit it. prob just lip kit the next one. any i also won't do the unpainted pieces thing. so everything happens for a reason...just gives me the chance to start anew.

Buy it back and part it out is what you do... don't worry about putting it back on the road. Depending on the condition everything's in, you can usually make a pretty penny off of it.

if i get enough money to buy it back after i get another car, maybe. as long as there is time left. but i dont want to buy it back now with the money i have, because then i still will be without a car. plus i would have to pay to tow it back from atl to columbus...and then i doubt i can find many people to buy parts off it it. maybe just the hood, camber kit, and front bumper. motor has 132,xxx on it. just too much.

Trying to get this 03 civic lx, 5 speed. wont be able to do many mods to it at first because i will be paying a car note, plus i have to pay rent now. which i wasn't paying rent when i did the mods on the first car. but if i get the rims off this car, i will put them on the new civic...then lower it, camber kit, gas shocks...black projector headlights and then hid's. smoke the tails, cold air intake, and thats all i'm doing by the end of this summer.

i'm wondering if your carbon hood is still good? is it just dirt on it or has it been cracked? if you're interested we can swap your carbon hood for my stock si hood and i'll give you some extra cash for it. lmk

its not cracked (as in bent)..just scratched up. yeah its a VIS carbon fiber hood. i even have the reciept for it. yeah a swap + cash sounds good. the hood had only been on there for 5 weeks before the wreck. i will even throw in the carbon fiber gas dampers if u have your factory latch.

how bad are the scratches? is the carbon pattern mess up or is it just the clear coat? in order words is it repairable with a fresh coat of clear?

to be honest, i dont even remember completely. i haven't seen the car since the day after the wreck. i just remember thinking that if i had the same body style civic, i would just put it on it...i know the white long scratch on the side is where the carbon is gone, but you would be barely able to see it with the hood closed. they aren't deep scratches though, just faint scratches that could be repaired.

it just seems too much to go thru right now to buy it back and part it out. Besides car has already been sold to the lot by the insurance company so I think its too late for me to buy it back. If I can buy it back however, I will when I get my stimulus money. But that bill for a tow of over 100 miles will be EXPENSIVE.
And yes I went in the ambulance (unwillingly), but yeah once all my doc visits are over, we are going to sue her. She just doesn't know it yet :2up:.
