Alright, there are my dad's struts and coil overs. We have... no idea what they are. The struts are white and they almost look like they say "AK" or "AR" on them.... And the struts are this red-ish color...Any ideas?

we only worked on it for about an hour or so the other night. he did a little more today, but i had to work so i couldn't help him out. he said he didn't do too much cause he was waiting tomorrow so he can show me how to do everything cause i'm off work :goodjob:
What were the compression test results?
jeff, it was a REALLY old meter... i'll have to take a picture of it tomorrow... but it ranged from 150-160 or something... not sure if those numbers mean anything to you, but the way the gauge was set up, anything less than about 140 was in the "danger" zone, and from about 150-170 or so was green, or "good"....:screwy:
i will take a picture of said device. i was assured it was much older than me :lmfao:
.... much more to come tomorrow. hoping to have the old cams and springs out and have the new itr cams and springs in by tomorrow night :D

A B16 should be up around 190-200 psi considering the compression ratio. I had 215 across the board right before the turbo install.

Why doesn't your dad ever post here? Get him an account. This is BS. I don't care if he's 60 and doesn't know computers. That makes about as much sense as being afraid of a microwave.

hmm... i'm not sure what the rating was then.... i'll have to go back and check, because he wrote it all down.

^ ITR springs on deck! :D
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h7/pizzaface01/Cam%20Install/Day25.jpg
Tool used to install and uninstall the springs....and here's how it works:

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h7/pizzaface01/Cam%20Install/Day26.jpg

the bar is used as a support, and you push down on the spring, use a magnet to take the 2 valve locks out, and then take the spring out. the put the spring in, and put the valve locks back in.
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h7/pizzaface01/Cam%20Install/Day29.jpg
no pics of us actually taking a spring out, cause the air compressor was going off and on, and if it cuts off then ur basically ****ed. plus, the fawking vavle locks are so hard to get in on the intake side. we lost one about 3-4 times, and one time i actually went down into one of the holes that goes to the bottom of the motor. we thought we were gonna have to take the entire head off... lol it wasn't untill then, that we decided to plug the holes w/ shop rags, haha :lmfao:. lesson learned for the next cam swap :ninja:

Springs in!!!!!
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h7/pizzaface01/Cam%20Install/Day211.jpg
and yes, it was a biitch :2up:
Side note, i dont think many people actually swap the springs and retainers... well, if they do, then they probably just swap the exhaust side, because they're really easy. the intake side takes alot of patience, and defanitly aggervates the fawk out of you.

cams are in, did a little test drive yesterday and it felt a little faster.
gonna break it in more today though. we've allready got an ITR throttle body, and we're looking into getting a Skunk2 or stock ITR manifold.
