i have been searching around and still havent gotten any clear results but here is my question:

i have an Ls that is going in my sol and i want to stay all motor but i dont want to put new pistons in so what can i do to get some good numbers out of it?

i was thinking about doing:

2 layer head gasket
edelbrock intake mani
injen cai
larger TB
2.5 exhaust
decent port polish
crower cams
crower valve train
and a decent header

will this make some decent numbers

ps i am new to b series soo go easy on me

All that will cost over $1K easily and you still won't make over 170 WHP.

You could start off the an aftermarket intake manifold, Ebay intake, 2.5" exhaust, and a header and get a few WHP .. and that's about it. Larger TB is a waste of money for you right now.

thanks for the input man i may go with a small turbo setup but i really just want about 170-175 so that sounds good

buy a header from me , the Tri-y ($280)

Buy a Skunk2 Intake manifold

Buy Crower 403s (stock valvetrain is ok)

Buy an ECU from me an tune.

should make 150whp, thats about the best you can expect from a stock bottom LS engine

post the dyno. That would be the STRONGEST B18B in history

hes the man.

no need for the edelbrock manifold and the injen cai...id just do a cheap intake with blox velocity stack and filter.

you can use stock valvetrain on crower 403 cams. you cant use stock valvetrain on crower 404 cams

How many miles does the motor have on it also.Just throwing stuff together on a old worn out motor wont help either.I say stock rebuild then add jubaloop

the motor was new with low miles. When i first dynoed it with just a intake and header it had 132whp. Ill dig the sheet up from that. Was at mainstream i talked to dave and rob up their and with the setup im running i should be around 155whp. Dave said hes never seen a stock b18 put down numbers like this. you also have to consider weather and everything when its dynoing.

so SHOULD you make 155whp or DID you make 155whp with just an intake an exhaust?

if you did make it, then holy **** thats a record.

I hate to tell ya but to get the most outta those 403s you need higher compression. I am a LS guy but my opinion is to put a small turbo on it or do the LS/VTEC. Strictly my opinion, do what you want. People hated on my JRSC LS.

My LS with msd cap and coil, intake, header, cat back made 135.2 whp and 119.7 ftlbs

the key to N/A LS is compression i had a LS integra GSR tranny with PR3 piston p&p head crower cams, springs, stock manifold ported with a 68mm TB it went best of 14.7@95 i figure that should be around 160hp with no tune and in integra with A/C

Thats good I guess since it was in a teg.yea i would think so i think with tune on it maybe some low 14's on street tire or maybe high 13's on a slick........ you should have picked that stuff up of mine i hope the new ower will make something out of it in his hatch

Small Turbo x2, 170whp is very easily obtainable W/a small turbo. My bone stock LS made a 127whp W/all acc. To be honest I can't see a LS being too successful N/A, Never the less Good Luck.

Search honda-tech all motor section. I'm pretty sure you can get the info you want from there.

N/A power is totally different from boost power but IMO its not hard to get good numbers out of a LS motor but will take time and some R&D
