To those few opf you on here who either were in U.C back in the day or hung out with us, John Ante (Used to have the black civic SI) was killed today in a Motorcycle Accident. Someone pulled out in front of him.

I dont have many details but Lamar just called me and told me and I just am speechless right now, John was a great guy who brought a smile to your face and warmed your heart. A Genuine person and friend.

Seems like this is just another tragic bike accident we have all had to read about in the past few weeks.

RIP John, You are always in my heart and memory and know you are a treasured friend and member of my family. :(

I wasn't in UC and I don't know him, but I would like to extend my condolences none the less. We are hearing these stories more often because it's perfect riding weather. If everyone would just remember to look twice, a man might be home with his family right now. :( Keep your eyes open, motorcycles are everywhere...

What is so sad to is his wife just had thier first baby a few months ago, and his son came over from the Philipines in the last month to live here with him.

I think so many people now that the weather os good just are not used to looking for bikes again, and then many times people dont look anyways. I cant count when I had mine a few months back how many times someone pulled out in front of me and I think how it could have happened to me as well.

Thats always the way. The good ones who want to enjoy life to the fullest usually have some of the worst luck. Thats why im soo scared about getting a bike.

Yeah, Its harder than I thought it would be. John LOVED riding, It was his passion.

i mean..even after my boy got in his accident, like a few weeks after i still had an itch to get one, but every hear of someone getting hurt/dying cuz of BS drivers, it takes me back and makes me think again. i guess i will forever be on the sidelines watching as others ride. all who have a bike please be safe

Brett
05-05-2008, 11:06 AM
Yeah after this I will never ride again, I am not buying another bike like I wanted to down the road. To many peoples lives can change in a instant.

My cousin was in a very similar motorcycle accident a few years ago. He was banged up pretty bad & spent several weeks in Gray's trauma center. My cousin survived the experience but, he's not the same.

Sorry to hear about the loss Brett. Hopefully the healing process for his family & friends will begin soon.

Today is the day I was dreading.

Tonight I will have to go and see my friend for the final time and some how come up with the strength to say good bye and let him know how in so many ways he affected my life and how I enjoyed the ride with him. John... I just dont know how to begin to tell you how much you will be missed. I keep asking myself what if you would have left the mountain 30 seconds sooner or later, What if we got the rain Sunday instead of Saturday.... There are so many "What If's" I keep playing in my head and all come back to the same thing, You were taken from us and I dont know how we all will get through this. Tonight we will need your presence to help us and most of all Arlene through this. We are going to be there for her, we will all take care of her for you.

Yeah, it's going to be rough. Lets remember the good times tonight. John loved his friends, and he will be glad to see us all together tonight. He liked to have his family and friends around him more than anyone else I know. I can't remember more than a couple of times being at his house, or talking to him on the phone where someone, or a group of people weren't there. He sure knew how to have a cookout too.
