why is there such a strong hate with ebay? i can understand people not wanting the cheap parts off of there even though thousands of people on this site have ebay parts..... but they also sell name brand parts for less, u simply cut out the middle man the power bill the insurance the employees and save money......... so if we have the same name parts on our car and mine came from ebay you paid way more at a shop your stuff is better than mine???

just a hypothetical question.... my swap from phenix city turbo kit from import atl

I know i am not the only person on here with a car that is being built with a small budget. My question to all the EBAY haters out there is why because it gets under your skin when you order a new piece for your car and someone like me gets the same thing for 10%-50% less. Dont hate. That is like saying I shop at publix and walmart sux. People like to save some money.

same parts

I do see some of the nock off intakes and manifolds and cams being **** but there are good deals on there if you just look.
and as far as the ebay cold air intake vs. say an AEM, show me a dyno that proves the AEM out performs it

I personally like ebay alot. I order tons of **** off of it. I paid 90 bucks for my intake on the truck, as supposed to like 350. And Ive proven it still gives better gas mileage and power vs the stock intake.
I also rock the "HID" bulbs off ebay. They are badass, 20 bucks and most people cant tell the difference. They also are much better lighting for a small price. One day, yes I will go to a true HID but for now, 20 bucks you can't go wrong.
I order add a leaf kits, block kits and all that for cheap tool. With those parts, steel is steel to me. And if I think its flimsy I just reinforce it.

There are deals to be had, but you must spend a lot of time searching. I have found some great deals over the years. However, I spent a great deal of time searching for each item to get the best deal.

depends. you have to spend LOTS of time searching as well as hoping they're not knockoffs. (sometimes it's very very hard to tell).

deals are all around though, you just gotta look.

oh as for metal is metal, i'd be worried about the welds the most. ****ty weld job = MANY things can go wrong.

I have only gotten a few things off of there, but I was happy with what i got. I'm about to get some Tein coilovers for my car, their brand new and only cost $60. Where else are you going to find Tein coilovers for that cheap and brand new?

i would rather pay alittle more at a local shop...any shop than buy real parts of ebay.
the local people need to support whatever local shops are here otherwise there won't be anymore local shops.

support whatever shop you want...but support them with your business

Ebay is a great resource. As a shopper, you just have to make an EDUCATED decision before "buying it now".

However, It would take something serious for me to specifically buy a turbo kit off of ebay. The seller would be subject to major scrutiny.

ebay is the ****. like everyone is saying if you shop around long enough you can find what you are looking for. just have to check out sellers feedback. but that is the first place i look for anything, and thats car related or not. everything is on ebay

I'd be more inclined to buy certain stuff from local shops, but things like a short ram intake, megan exhaust, universal FMIC kits, etc... ebay ftw.

I got my B-series 8.5lb. Cusco flywheel for $200 shipped off eBay 4 years ago, used but being one piece chromoly and showed no signs of abuse I wasn't concerned. Then got a Clutchmaster stage III clutch kit for $200 shipped as well and still using that same pressure plate 4 years later.

Then i've found a few ultra rare parts for my new project car the last couple months, one being a brand new OEM BMW e30 M3 side skirt for $120 shipped, etc.

Craigslist, eBay, and forums have everything you need for a fraction of the cost...it just takes time and effort to find it!

ebay is good for all those parts that have the "Universal" tag on them.... Its also good for all those parts that can be used in a particular car model, but not just one year, it can be used for the years of "90 91 92 93 97 00 02 03 04":D

I think as long as you don't buy some ebay brands stuffs, and stick with some good brands. Ebay is a good place to go. In fact, I always check ebay for whatever parts I need before I order it somewhere else.
