This is Bart's old car so I know it was around the Macon/Warner Robins area at one time. It has a T04Z single turbo kit on it if I remember correctly and its actually a R34 GTS with a GTR conversion but it is still only RWD,

I had to replace the ECU though, such a pain...
Whoever installed it didn't ground it properly and 2 of the injector drivers stopped working. But it's fine now except it runs a little rich as it was tuned down in florida, at sea level of course.

Well it's about as GTR as I can get... Only it's RWD with a 5speed. That aside, everything on the car is GTR spec or better.

Which varsity, and what time?

It certainly is a nice car. We put that turbo on the car, right after we put a pair of Apexi RS6 turbos on it. The previous owner was very fickle with mods and had the money to spend. I spent quite a bit of time tracking down electrical problems in that car. When the swap was originally done they really took some shortcuts in the wiring. After a few problems Bart just sold the car rather than let me take the harness out and just fix it right or replace it with another one. He wanted a Porsche turbo anyways. I honestly don't think it was ever properly tuned. The parts on the car when it left here will support 550whp+ if it was ever tuned right but the owner thought he could tune it fine in his garage.

When I tried to register mine in GA what happened was they refused it because it had the wrong number of digits in the VIN. So I registered it in florida (I have legal residence and license there) and they simply padded the VIN with ones. Progressive also insured it no problem, it actually says 2001 Nissan Skyline on the insurace card. However the title simply says 2001 Nissan with no model.

Part of that is the tuning, the T04Z kicks in only a little later than the factory twins but has so much more on top. It still sounds like you need to get the timing tuned a little better on the midrange, preboost, which will help it feel more responsive and also spool faster. With that HP number you should be closer to 450 torque. A better pair of cams will do wonders also but Bart never wanted to put them in while the car was here. That intake manifold also kills your midrange, was noticeable when we put it on. I recommended leaving the factory setup but he really wanted a single TB, I guess that's what happens when Supra guys buy Skylines. As for the running rich, if its still running the PFC PM me and I can tell you how to pull a little fuel out of the entire map without really affecting the tune.

Learn to read a little better, he even said it wasn't really a GTR. The car has had GTR badges on it since it came to the states and like he said, that's what most people associate the car with.

There is a importer who brought in several shipments of Skylines, he did not do a very good job on the registration and it caught the eye of Customs which in turn caused HLS to investigate. HLS has sofar confescated a handful of the cars that were imported by him and are continuing to track the rest.

It's by no means a nationwide crack down on Skylines in general, it's as of right now just the ones that he brought in.

Unless someone else has more information on this which would be helpful. I don't have any kind of direct contacts with HLS or Customs to get this info so what I have posted above is what I have read from a decent amount of web sources.

My recommendation is if they come knocking on your door, have your car well hidden and say it was stolen.

a guy in Florida real name larry aka "skyline king" and a guy in California "franz" were supposidly using their own personal boats, containers, and docks to import Japanese cars themselves to bypass using shipping companies. what they didnt realize is that they were illegally bypassing the us customs importation inspection. so basically their cars are basically in this country illegally.

I am selling a R34 Skyline GT-R. I put the car together, (along with 3 other cars) to be used for the new Fast & Furious 4 movie and the car is done filming now, so it's time to sell. The car was assembled as a kit with the body being purchased from Kaizo Industries, and then the motor and Trans purchased and installed here in Southern California at a shop in Anaheim. The car has a legitimate Florida title and Registration and comes with all applicable documentation including receipts for the drivetrain and install. This car is also eligible for one of the California state issued Kit Car exemptions, so it can be registered here in California legally (the same process a Noble uses).

The car has a Nissan RB26DETT motor and 6-speed Manual Trans installed with approximately 20K miles on them. The car is basically stock with the Nismo Body Kit (Front bumper, side skirts, and rear spats), Nismo Coilovers and 18 inch LM GT4's as the only real modifications. It is extremely clean and really fun to drive.

The asking price is $81,500

This is for a street legal GT-R. I'm happy to answer any questions about it's legitimacy but just try to keep them constructive. All too many people get negative and closed-minded when it comes to this.
