computer troubles

Ok, so right now I'm using the monitor from my old p.o.s computer because my newer monitor isn't quite working the way its supposed to. I sat down and wiggled the mouse to get everything to wake up, but nothing happened, well, the power button on the monitor started blinking...but that's it. I tried turning the monitor off and on again (a few times) and then I tried unplugging the monitor, but it still showed a black screen. Does anybody have any idea what might be wrong with the monitor, or should I just go buy a new one?

probolly ur monitor is not a plug n play monitor.

don't think so...its been working fine for the last 5 years. i think its probably just old. i'm going to look at new ones this weekend.

Is the cable in the back connected to the computer?
