Republican representative Paul Broun is trying to take Playboy away from soldiers. He is saying no porn should be sold on military posts. The 'hardcore' porn was taken away years ago, and now they want to take away everything else. Playboy has always been a very respectable magazine, and now to tell soldiers of all people they can't read it is ridiculous. And why? Cause reading it makes a soldier more likely to commit a sex crime? WRONG many studies prove that that is the exact opposite. So why does he say soldiers shouldn't be sold porn on post? Because some women wrote him complaining that an officer bought a playboy in front of her kid, and she thought it was dirty. So tell me, what will she do when the child sees a man on post drink? That's terrible, let’s take all alcohol away from the soldiers? What about if thee kid sees a car accident? No more cars! In fact, let’s just take away anything that could ever be misconstrued! And of all people to do this to he chooses the soldiers, the good men and women fighting and dying for our country. So how about this Paul, why don't you write back the nice lady and tell her if she doesn't want her child to have a wrapped edition of Playboy, with no nudity or anything on the cover, in front of her child on post, then she can shop elsewhere. Soldiers should be allowed to purchase playboy and such magazines on post. Paul, I am disgusted that you are from Georgia.

Psh. That's bull****. When I worked at hootas, at christmas time we had this calendar drive where people bought hooters calendars tshirts etc to send over to the troops... seriously almost every single table bought at least a calendar or a magazine or more to send over.

I know Hooters is so not playboy but they're pretty similar. I don't see how this is going to fly.

And playboy is not even porn. Its tasteful photos of women with no clothes on. Its not like there's a center spread of some hairy dude ****ing a girl in the butt.

Dude... Soldiers are the REASON that magazines and pinups evolved! Think back to WWII... Pinup girls on bomber noses, posters up in barracks... soldiers and sexy girls go hand in hand!

THAT'S CRIMINAL!!!! Let them have their damn playboy... Seriously.. poor guys will go insane overseas. :(

that is crazy! I still can't understand how you can, at 18 yrs old, sign up to go to war, fight for your country, kill or be killed, but still can not enjoy a cold beer at the end of the day. I think that if you are in the military, you have earned the right to drink!!! and look at pics of naked girls :D if you want to...

Internet is governed/ watched by system administrators to make sure we don't look at porn or pretty much anything fun for that matter. For instance, no myspace, importatlanta, honda tech, no forums, no porn, no pic sharing sites, no you tube, I can go on and on. But that is the life of a Soldier.........

must have been in the "nice" places in Iraq, where you can have your own internet, Korea is somewhere you have your own net too, but the hard places, no way...... FYI, I just left Afghanistan, not a "friend does this or that," I've been there and know from my experience......
