I have a 7th gen 2003 Celica GT-S and I really like it. I have never had any issues with it other than the lack of aftermarket support. Just make sure to get the GT-S and not the GT. The GT-S has more power (180bhp stock) and a 6 speed is offered vs the GT (140bhp stock). If you just want a fun car to drive and you don't intend on going crazy the Celica is a great choice. If you intend on making big power on a limited budget then get a Honda. Here are a few pics of mine.

I own a 1996 Celica coupe with a JDM Curren front end I love it just because it's different. You really can't get anything out of these cars unless you swap a 3SGTE or a 20V 4AGE because the stock engines have no power.

Opinions are usually personal views on something and are not right or wrong dependent. Unless you're the one giving them. You spread your stupidity around as if you were an angry gay man spreading AIDS. You should just stick to copying other people's posts and pretending like you know anything.

OP............you can't go wrong with these:

Celica lol. They are all pretty good cars, very reliable. In the last gen definitely go for the gt-s model. the 1zz-fe in the GT is weak as water but extremely reliable. The older models with the 4afe and 7afe are SLOW.

My cousin's got the latest model GT-S...willing to play and fun to chuck around, but not really my thing. Not a bad car though. They should've fitted an LSD or something...it breaks traction too easily.

I bought it when I was 15, and I haven't touched it in 3 years. It ran great, but it's seized up right now. Eldebrock performer Buick intake, cams, Mr. Shift shift kit, holley 4 brl (sittin in my room), oil filter reloction, bored 20 over, flow masters, that's all I know about it. It was a fast ass little car.....but now she is almost gone.

I prefer the older ones, especially the all-trac. The new celicas are alright, although the styling is kinda funky.

just make sure its a 2000This post caught my attention. Why should he stick to a 2000 model? Did other years have electronic gremlins or something? :???:

Its an ecu/tuning related issue. With the 2000's, the car can rev up to 8400. In 2002's, the ecu won't allow it. I don't remember it exactly right now.

i dont see why the gts's werent popular, i think it was the price. i was lookin at one, and they were always too expensive. didnt hey have trd supercharger kits that made them rev like crazy.

You are correct! The 2000-2001 models have the 8350 rpm fuel cut and the 2002 and 2005 has a 7800 rpm fuel cut. Starting with the 2003 models the GT-S got drive by wire to replace the throttle cable. This is a big disadvantage because of the tuning options. The Apexi PFC only works on the 00-02 models unless you get the adapter cable made by Boosted 2.0 in Houston and it is around $700. Add the price of the PFC to that and tuning the DBW GT-S gets really expensive. The 03-04 GT-S had the 8350 rmp fuel cut which is a positive though so you can land in the powerband easier.

The TRD supercharger only works on the 1ZZ engine in the Celica GT. The GT-S can use the Greddy or Blitz supercharger though.

the best thing about the last models was the engine. It is a great motor but i guess if lotus is going to use it, it has to be good the last gen celicas half-brotherhttp://images.google.com/url?q=http://www.carpages.co.uk/lotus/lotus_images/lotus_elise_111r_engine_23_10_04.jpg&usg=AFQjCNFTiH2HtvcAbflTOfvLOYUS6M6uuwhttp://www.clftechnologies.com/images/casestudies/Case-3-off.jpg

I agree with you about the LSD...they are still a great car & fun to drive :bump:

I have an 86 GTS and its one of the favorites out of all the cars I've owned. I have never had any problems out of it and I bought it with 120k on it and it now has 250k. They handle really good stock, and are pretty quick. They are pretty fun to drive and the TVIS makes them sound really agressive/sporty. I will always be a fan of celicas, but I like the pre-90's the most.

I have had the pleasure of owning a 1990 Black Celica Alltrac. Bought it with 48,000 miles, the car was mint. Boy, do I miss that car. Nice power, very rare.

the all-trac was a nice car but the same motor came in the GT (i think it's the 3SGTE) it was just non turbo, still had cast sleeves and the head was a little different, so with a port and polish and few other mods you should be able to put an all-trac in it's place, provided your not running from a dig...the AWD on those is NOT interchangeable with the same year car...i know

but doing a 5th gen or 6th FWD 3sgte swap will be faster than a all trac

i belive the 6gc GT4 makes round 240hp
