Has anyone bought a remote door lock system set (actuators, remote etc.) off fleabay? I don't have one in my Miata and it's a real pain to open each door with the key .. It is pretty cheap (about $30 shipped) but is it any good?

i wouldn't bc the reason the actuators are so expensive is due to the pull that it has and the quality of the product. i am an ex mini trucker and friends have bought them and they normally go out 2 days after the warranty expires i would get more quaility stuff if you want to be reliable.... and you have to watch out on those cheap bc the frequencies of the remotes. the last time my friends bought them 2 of them ordered at different times and when they installed them they could unlock each others doors

lol haha .. now I certainly don't want that to happen! Any source for quality remote sets (w/actuators) that isn't super expensive? The ones available through Miata product resellers are reasonably priced ($100-150) but look like the same sets available on ebay.

fast + cheap = not reliable
cheap + reliable = not fast
fast + reliable = not cheap

Not sure why I'd want my door locks to be "fast" :D
Thanks for the info though.. I'll ask around to see if I can get one of the Miata resellers to donate one. :D
