So, just wanted to see if any of you guys know what any of the up coming candidates for presidential election have to say on gas prices. Do any of them plan to help them? When I was younger I never felt voting would be important to me, but seeing how the economy is and how it's really hitting my pocket at a young age I think I want to voice my opinion in a way. I'm getting really concerned with gas prices and just wanted to maybe have some hope for relief.

:goodjob: Thanks for any serious replies.

There is no 'plan' that any president can have to reduce oil prices. The President has no control over gas prices. If they claim they are going to reduce them, they are only trying to buy votes.

And anyone that wants to use the government to take these "record profits" from oil companies is just an idiot. Look at the companies PROFIT MARGINS. They have stayed the SAME regardless of the price of oil.

The reason why gas is so expensive is because of the huge increase in demand from China and India and the sinking US dollar. Gas is priced in dollars.

If you really want lower gas prices, pick a president that will drastically reduce government spending and lower taxes. One that will end deficits. Our economy needs help. The spending bills purposed by Obama and Clinton are huge and will put even more strain on a overspent economy. I don't believe McCain will be as bad as the other two, but he won't help. Paul was really the only one that had any clue.
