i was replacing my valve cover gasket. did it just yesterday, torqued it down right, no problem. painted a dif valve cover to put on it. replaced that today, don't know y i didnt wait, and was torquen it down and one of the bolts broke. any ideas how to fix????

drill and tap
or if ther is enough tip left on it you can try and back it out

wuz told if i could get it outa the head, i could go to honda a buy a replacement bolt. wuts the torque spec for it to the head? if anyone knows

ya you can go to honda and get a new bolt but first get it out of the head....... i just hand tighten them down and have never had a problem

just take the valve cover off, it's a 10mm, use a wrench or deep socket 6 point to take it off. No need to tap or drill.

ummmmmmmm..... he broke it so whers is the 10mm 6 piont at (NOT THERE)

I think this guy was talking about the valve cover studs that screw into the top of the head with 10mm nuts welded to them, then the valve cover nuts screw onto the studs... but anyway if the stud is broken off at the head, get a thread tap kit and go to work. either that or find that easy out drill tool that Billy Mayes always talks about on the infomercials. :goodjob: good luck.

ya, it broke off right above so it came straight out. went to the dealrship and bout a new one with a nut. cost ten bucks. got it bak on there and running again. thnks guys!
