Me and the girlfriend made some chili over white rice last night, and I brought some to work today. Man, this sh*t is good. Just thought I'd share.

Happy Monday everyone.

left over chili is way better than freshly made....

same thing with chicken noodle soup... lasagna... things of that nature... it's like the spices soak in/blend better

recipe or die rice makerRan's Chili n' Rice (Serves 5)

Ground beef - 1.5-2 Pounds
Red Beans - 1 Can
Black Beans - 1 Can
Tomato Soup - 1 Can (Large)
Tomato Sauce - 1 Can (Medium)
Tomato Paste - 2 Cans (Small)
Diced Tomatos - 1 Can / 1 Tomato
Yellow Onion - 1 Chopped
Green Bell Pepper - 1/2 Chopped (Add 1 whole pepper if you really like it)
Chili Powder - 6 Table Spoons
Various Spices - Added liberally for personal taste
Bay Leaves - 2
White Rice - 2 1/2 Cups

Chili Preparation - 45 mins
Begin by taking a large skillet and simmering the beef and onions together until the meat is completely cooked and the onion develops a golden brown color. Simmer on medium heat.

In a seperate and larger pan, add all the tomato sauces together with the chopped bell pepper and beans. Stir for about 5 minutes before adding the beef and onions. Stir again for about 5 minutes and add the chili powder, bay leaves, and various spices for flavor. Test as you go to find out how you like it. Allow to simmer on low-medium heat for about 20-30 minutes to enhance flavor.

White Rice Preparations - 30 mins
Add 2 1/2 cups of white, long-grain rice to a rice cooker pot. Rinse, stir-wash, and drain 4-5 times to clean rice. Fill rice pot until the water rests approximately 1/2" above the rice level. Place the pot in the rice cooker and press the "cook" button.

You can use minute rice if you want, but minute rice is kinda gross so results won't be as satisfying.

same with curry. flavor peaks at around the 2nd or 3rd day when all the spices have blended.

Oh, and chili ain't shyt until you add ground cumin. its a must.
