I must have seen 20+ motorcycles hauling A S S up 285 from the southside. I was doing about 80 and about 20 bikes FLEW around me doing 140+. SH!T was insane. The way the pack leader was swerving 3 lanes at a time, Im surprised I didn't see a cloud of smoke miles off in the distance due to rider/driver error. I thought a while back someone told me that it was pretty common for bikes to see how quickly they can complete the loop. I used to ride, just never cared to take the risk of doing 100+ through traffic.

i've been told that the record on the watermelon 500 was about 20minutes. from a biker that was in the scene years ago.

I have riden with them a few time. They are going to or coming the frozen palace on Old National.

I was maxed out doing 178mph on my other bike and was still getting passed but at least 5 other bikes. Crazy **** I tell you.

When I first moved down here I witnessed a similar situation it was like one second you see them and next second they was gone.

I plead the 5th!! I really hope my girl doesn't see this. I told her I was just going out w/ some friends to Barnacles on the bike. I bet I can tell you exactly what time you were on 285 Seymour.

Yeah I did look down and see 183 through a corner so I'd say that 190mph average is correct!! Seriously.

Haha .. reminds of a similar incident sometime last year. We were driving a stang 'vert rental along the 285 north loop when 3 or 4 crotch rockets suddenly surrounded us, revved their engines for a few seconds and then shot off into the night. I thought they were doing a high speed drive-by .. scared the sh*t outta me!

I heard that (at least in Memphis), the police will follow in the general direction and keep an eye out for wreckage.

All it takes is a quick lane change from a motorist but i guess the thrill is worth it.

right?

what they are doing is much safer than them going 40 mph on any 2 lane road here in metro Atlanta

These idiots are just like any other street racer in a car. I hope the next time these morons decide to over 150MPH in traffic, they hit a rock that sends them for a real ride.

Ride responsibly or don't ride at all.

We all make our own decisions, we're not oblivious we know what are options are and we also know what the possibilities are.

We all have heard stories about people dying on bikes (or off cause i think death usually occurs with the 2nd and following impacts. Sometimes it hits close to home, sometimes it's just someone you heard about. Some of our perspectives change permanently but sometimes the change is temporary then it's back on the bike - going so fast that the dashed lines appear solid.

We all have a choice

Damn, did that sound like a paid advertisement for "The More You Know" ???wtf?

Cant believe that doing 150+ on 285 in traffic is safer than doing speed limit on normal roads!

At least the motorist has a chance of seeing the biker instead of maybe having a second to react to something flying by going 120MPH faster than them.

It is sad that there are dumb motorists that hit bikers, but you cannot ever argue that going 190 past said motorist is safer.

yea racing in traffic is not safe and not smart period, but I was really trying to point out that going 150+ around 11 pm - 1 am on sunday (maybe 4-8 cars every mile until u get to spaghetti junction) night is much safer than driving on a 2 lane road anytime during the day. It is my opinion, just ask some of the bikers how many of them died going that fast and then ask how many of their friends ended up on someone's passenger seat only going 40-60

A few months ago this guy passed between me and another car on 75 at 150+. I had the top down and when he passed me his exhaust was like 2 feet away from my ear... Seriously if he had hit me in my little miata I think I wouldve died. If my miata had 800hp (lol) I wouldve caught up and knocked his ass over...

Speaking of bikers, I know a dude who was messing with a biker as they were heading to the interstate and apparently when they got on there the biker pulled up next to him and kicked his door, denting it.
