So my 3 month old got bronchitis 2 weeks ago and is still sick. We thought it was gone, but the last 2 days she has been coughing really really bad. So we take her to the emergency room around 8pm, didnt leave til almost 2am. On top of all that, they had to give my baby a shot :( She squealed for like 3 minutes then passed out. Such a ****ty day...

Sorry to hear about your daugther. Emergency rooms do suck no matter what. They are so slow and seeing people. I think that's sad.

They usually serve the people who, if not treated, would die immediately first. Next time you get into an accident and are bleeding out, tell them to take you to McDonalds.

or when they ask you how much pain on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst say 9 or 10

i brought in a buddy with a head injury from skateboarding, the triage nurse didnt think it was a huge deal. Long story short, he had brain damage that could have been prevented if he received prompt service and had the blood drained that was pooling in his brain. He isnt retarded, but you can tell sometimes it takes him a while to process some things. Needless to say, he got a large settlement and i dont know where he lives anymore.

My wife is having to take her to TC thompson tonight, her breathing is still bad. FYI, never go to hamilton medical center. My best friend has luekhemia and they told him his gallbladder wasnt working or some ****. Specialist came in and had him emergency rushed to emory. He said that if my friend was at Hamilton another 5 hours he wouldve died.

Would you rather make an appointment a week in advance and go to a family physician?

I hate Emergency rooms. They are slow with everyone. Hell, they probably make poor pregnant people about to pop wait, everytime I've been it's been 2-3 hours.

yea its was like a 5 hour wait before they even took her for a cat scan

I must say when i went to the doctor and he admitted me to the hospital. It only took like 10-20 mins tops to get upstairs to a room.

So if it happens during the day...man i'd go to the doctor, and if they see you are way bad off..they'll call the hospital so you'll get right up.

Yep. I had been to the Emergency room 3 times before...my doctor actually admitted me, I went a few times...had xrays on my neck/throat..told me nothing was wrong, then they gave me the swabbed my tonsil...test came back...nothing wrong...so after all that, they just gave me some tylenol codeine...sent me home...then 3 weeks later...there i go back over and over again for them to tell me im fine! Oh i was pised so after all those times going to the ER...it became so serious that i was gaging...all damn day long, and was having trouble catching my breath...because i was doing something tha feels sort of like a hiccup...for so long my diafram was so tired...went to the doctor..he got me a speicalist, but the son of a ***** was leaving for vacation..so he REFUSED to see me till he got back..which was 2 weeks from that point..i was going to die if i had to wait that long so my doctor admitted me to the hospital..praise the lord...turned out......... from more xrays, a lot of blood test, cat scans, but the Barium Swallow test showed my throat would open and close as i had a spasm causing me not to feel sick to my stomach all the time, and gag, I have Esophageal Spasms, it causes me to feel like im going to throw up often, and sometimes i actually feel like gagging, other times I actually dry heave. So...they put me on 2 kinds of medication...and also, i must always carry around with me Finnegan ALWAYS in case i have an attack..so i don't ruin my Esophagus, or the lining of it.

That's my story...
