How much paint do you use to paint your cars by the quarts/gallon? Lets say for painting a Civic hatch/coupe. Somewhat looking for a quote on how much would be needed for 2-3 coats and 3 coats of clear. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I've heard anywhere from a half gallon to a full gallon depending on how detailed you intend on being, and if you are going from a dark color to a light color.

^depending. I painted a car with a 1/2 a gallon. but that is just paint. You still need primer and clear coat

^^yea, depends on paint color, and if the jams and engine bay are going to be sprayed, but on a hatch i would say 4 to 5 quarts of color.

and also the reducer/hardner. not unless you go with that new duplicolor-paint shop they sell at autozone or w/e. already mixed ready to spray.lol

I say 3 quarts will work :) the kind you mix your self not the Duplicolor pre-mixed.

Get urethane paint...not acrylic.
