i was wondering if anyone has been ticketed or had any problems with aftermarket harnesses in their car.. and if you have them do you use a harness bar or just mount them in the stock locations

Always use a harness bar for safety. Harnesses mounted to a stock location/rigged up will do more harm than good in an accident.

I've never had a problem running harnesses with a bar. The bar and harnesses were DOT approved, no reason for cops to be ****s aside from just trying to give you a bad day.

Takata = overrated btw. If you want the blinging JDM green, then go for it. Personally I like Sparco harnesses

Takata = overrated btw. If you want the blinging JDM green, then go for it. Personally I like Sparco harnessesWhy pay $300 for a harness that has the same quality and certifications as a $160 G-Force harness? All you're paying for is a name.

i was wondering if anyone has been ticketed or had any problems with aftermarket harnesses in their car.. and if you have them do you use a harness bar or just mount them in the stock locationsI ran harnesses daily in my MSM when I had it and had no problems. Technically, you can be ticketed for it since it isn't DOT certified, but most cops won't say anything unless you really piss them off.

why would you drive on the street with harnesses anyway? :/

you do realize that they have to be at a very minimal angle or your spine will be crushed, right?

you also realize you won't be able to duck in the event of a rollover, or sideways impact so your chances of dying shoot up - unless of course you have a rollbar.

is there something wrong with your seatbelt?

you also realize you won't be able to duck in the event of a rollover, or sideways impact so your chances of dying shoot up - unless of course you have a rollbar.Even with a rollbar, the chances of injury do increase with a rollbar as you can hit your head against it. Rollbar padding helps but, in the end, it makes little difference. I think SCC magazine had an article on this stuff sometime last year.

well the way my stock seats are you can't run the stock belts with the recaro seat i bought and im not like obsessed with takatas i just was thinking that they might be more reliable with the amount of people who have them in their car but yea i have looked at schroth and crowe haven't checked out g-force i would like to save the money to get something else for the car

They just have that pricey "Takata" patch on them. If you want to score a G-Force harness for cheap, hit me up.
