yesterday my cousin and i changed the front rotors and 3 of the calipers on my G35 and when we took it for a test run it sounded like the left front brakes were making a noise. and when i release the brakes at times there is a sound that i never heard before. what could be the problem? what would i do to fix it?

Can you explain the sound?
And rule of thumb, you ALWAYS replace calipers in pairs. So, go back and change out the last caliper.

well what had happened was o'reillys put two of the same calipers in the box so i was only able to change 3. but will change the other one soon. the noise is kinda hard to describe. let me go listen to it. and now the brakes squeel sometimes also.

are there 'notches' that were on the pads that were suppose to match the caliper?

yeah they were pretty similiar. not exactly the same. i got these from a mechanic i know though. the sound it makes when im driving is kind of like when you sharpen a knife or something metal.

sounds like your rotor is coming in contact with something...the caliper bracket, metal on the caliper itself are the two most likely suspects. check fitment.
