Alright, well I don't know if most know I have a 1970 Plymouth Cuda. Well before the restoration it was a 6cyl car. The bay is empty and been painted with the car for now. I have a 440 for it with an auto 727 torqueflight tranny with it. Well, I also have a rebuilt 225 6cyl that's been bored and slight other things sitting for it as well. Here are my two options since I miss it and want to drive it again lol. I would prefer to have the 440 rebuilt before I put it in and I don't have that kind of cash to throw around right now I want to get the car out to meets and such since it's nice out lately.

A. I can go ahead and throw my built 6cyl in while I save for my rebuild since it's already got the setup for it. Then swap them for a one time deal.

B. Go ahead and swap the 440 in and drive it without rebuilding. Save up and then pull the motor and rebuild it.

Keep in mind that since someone tried to steal it I have it parked an hour away at my dads house and I no longer have a place to work on it where I live. So time isn't something I have a lot of the get it swapped and such.

So I basically just want some input because I miss driving it.

Oh yea. I also like to refer to it as ''Statutory Grape''. That was the Dodge name though. Lol

Yea, I was leaning heavily towards the six as it was, I don't wanna hurt my purty purple engine bay swapping engines LOL.

I say stick with the six, that way you can build the 440. Once the 440 is done, you won't have as much down time swapping the motors as you would if you had to pull it, build it, then put it back in... Then you don't start rushing to put the motor back on the road and forget important details and mess it up in the long run.

Yea, that's what I've been thinking. The 225 is bored .30 over and has a custom 4bbl aluminum intake. It's only got around 18,xxx miles on it. I figure it'll get it out of the garage just fine.:)

No doubt. It's always a better to be able to have the feeling you can jump in it and take off and still know that you have a beast that is being built... oh btw, have you posted any pics of it? Just wondering, would like to see it if you have.

I'm thinking put the six in and get the 440 done exactly like you want. that way when you do the swap you are home free.

Yea, my neighbors saw some people with a tool bag trying to cut the lock off of my fence with pliers LOL. He came outside and was staying near where there were watching his dog and they jetted.

I've posted pictures before in other threads, but here are just some.

Lol at "statutory grape"

I'm with everyone else, makes more sense to drop the 6 cylinder in, build the 440, and then switch. Although then again it makes the most sense to sell the 6 cylinder and just leave it be until you can drop in the rebuilt 440, but I definitely understand you wanting to drive it :)

In my honest opinion dude........

You can't have a Cuda/Challenger, or any other muscle car for that matter, without a V8.

but do what's best for you bro. It'll still have those sexy Cuda body lines either way :goodjob:
