Yeah true. I'm sure you guys will leave me in the dust on a straight run but the twisties are a different ball game altogether.. I did beat my friend's G35 sedan on the dragon late last year. Anyhow, let's see. I might have to counter the power deficit with some good ol' fashioned bravery. :goodjob:

Umm.. so? Both versions have pretty much the same power (~290 at the crank & 230-240 rwhp) and weigh pretty much the same (~3500lbs). Unless you have Walter Rohrl's shifting skills, serious weight reduction or a blower in there, the performance should pretty much be the same.. maybe 0.1sec here or there. Not trying to get into a debate out here but just pointing out the facts.

Mike a mini S with a half ass set up will dominate over almost any FR car in the mountains. Forgiving is key on the street and those things are nothing but sheer predictable speed.

I had two of them and if I still had mine, I'd gladly take it up there and show everyone just how capable they are. I never met anything I couldn't keep up with in my MINIs. Sure, the big power cars could get away from me in the straights but no way in the twisties.

My 06 was well over 100hp per liter. Handled like a dream.

Umm .. a bit over-optimistic IMO. I've driven Miatas and Caymans that can EASILY keep up with any MINI, be it a stripper N/A or a pumping JCW.

ive went up with the Ga lotus club and only one elise was able to out run me. the rest were behind me and falling back. im sure it has alot to do with the drive but we all are race car drivers so it matters a lot now on the driver not the car. no exige came but im pretty sure with the few extra ponies those have they will surely pull me in the mtns with no problem.

Both had built motors with like 300+ Horsepower and roll cages and stuff. Just really cool guys. they lived up there in the mountains somewhere though. So they knew the roads really good. They would leave us and slow way down so we could catch up and then leave us again. It was fun times though... :goodjob:

Cars down for a bit. Flamming coolant/oil spilling GT3 on Road A caused a nice pile up and I got to adjust some body panels and get out the touch up paint before I can drive her again. Lets just say I got very lucky considering I pitched 90 degrees at 120 towards the wall as several Corvette parts were flying through the air behind me as they bounced off the wall like pin balls. Further news I believe I was clocked in the 1:41-1:42 area...137 on the back straight away..yippie. She ran all 2 of the 3 hours of open track time on and off none stop without a sweat and still wants more
