Just a few quickie pics for anyone who wants to see.

I've posted a few topics about the car - 90 Civic Wagon DX w/B18B OBD1 swap, Eibach Pro Street coil-overs, etc.

I got brand new OE Honda bumpers and decided to have them shot OE RT4WD model style with body matched sections - here is what it turned out like:

I'm pleased with the results. I think it makes it look less "base modelish" and a bit nicer overall. the color matched very well, but the bumpers are textured heavily and it gives the paint a less glossed look to them, but then again that's how they looked when the RT4WD were new off the showroom floor.

Anyways thanks for looking.

that looks sweet bro.

let me ask what you used to paint the bumpers. did you use any kind of flex material or anything...? Because i dont see how regular paint wouldn't chip very easily unless there was some kind of flex additive or something...

On brand new bumpers the prep isn't as intense because you don't have 15 years of sun warpage and armour all/tire shine to try and get rid of. I believe a flex agent is added to the paint. I didn't actually paint them myself - I had Quality Collision in forest Park do them. I could call hem and ask them exactly how they did it.

The bumpers were painted like this from the factory so they were intended to be painted like this. Some body shops really shy away from painting them because they're afraid of chipping - some will even say "you can't paint those" even when it's the exact same part number as the ones that Honda painted themselves when the cars were new.

For my old bumpers I planned on having a buddy that does body work (in his spare time) try to refurbish these by filling in all the knicks, but the texture will be lost in doing so. The factory texture is almost like a basketball, but you can't really fix dug-in spots without making them smooth.

I wanted these to look OE with the texture and all.

That looks badass man! So you gonna sell me your old bumpers for next to nothing? LOL I have the money to finish suspension on my car but I've come across some goodies I'm torn between right now. EE's UNITE!
