that is mostly because the "import" population is starting to mature and grow older, with age generally comes money, with money comes nicer cars.

no i agree but the scene as a whole seems to of matured as far as car selection goes... i remember going to an event and seeing the civic, crx, accord classes broken down by years b/c of all the cars, now a days you will only find a honda class if its broken down that far. not that i'm not complaining b/c i love looking at different cars, i remember going to events looking at 100 hondas and 50 other cars ;)

I always wonder why the Acura TSX doesnt get more attention, I think they have a lot of potential
RX8's look good..

I think because most people looking to mod/race an Acura with that motor is going to end up in an RSX-S.

And anyways, for around the same $$$, you can get an Evo or LGT or Sti or something.

My list of "hot" rides are the old school shit. Datsuns, pre 80's Toyotas and Hondas. Later, QD.

I think newer rx-7 and skyline GT-R when it comes out in 2007 as infinity.

that would be the thing in few years, as evo wrx slowly falls down in hype.

"hot" meaning they are popular I'd have to say WRX...just go to any northpoint meet and it's not hard to find out...

this is from SELOC sunday, just as many if not more in the spectator parking.

You dont have an EG.. you have a EJ ... In true reality, I don't think theres a EG (JDM) 2 dr Coupe In japan? Not sure though.

I may be wrong though.

Since when are the s2000 and 1.8t's Old cars? Those should be up there with the newer cars.. and actually the 1.8 t shouldnt be up there with those cars. STOCK TO STOCK is out of there playing field.

1.8t STOCK, should be down there with the the BASE RSX OR NEWER SI's Market and shit like that, Now when it comes to upgrades is a diffrent story. the 1.8 becomes a monster.

I see lots of Subarus, cause they are CHEAP. you can buy a used WRX for $17K and a Used STI for around 21-22K. Same with Evos and SRT-4's. they are cheap and fast cars.

nowadays everyone is going turbo, and these cars appeal the most to those people looking for new, powerfull cars for a good price.

Plus , as time moves on, so does the older cars. remember, an EG civic is AT LEAST 10 years old now. thats a decade. they stopped making them in 1995. so we will start to see more and more turn up in junkyards, get wrecked etc. the numbers are dwindling, just like the EF/ED. extremely hard to find. they are at LEAST 14 years old (stopped production in 1991).

Integras were made until 2001. so you still see alot of them around.

Bottom line was 5-7 years ago, if you want a fast car, you got an Import like a Honda with a GSR swap. no domestics were fast (SRT-4). If you wanted a turbo car you got a mitsu, and prayed it wasnt a 7 bolt motor, and the AWD eclipses were expensive, and slow (96+).

there wasnt alot to choose from back then, now theres a TON. so many good cars out in the market right now. hell, you can buy a 01 S2000 for $16K right now

I 100% agree. I don't have a taste for any of the newer cars. The WRX, EVO's, the Supras, any of them aren't doing anything to me. It's all retro for me, now. Later, QD.

s2000 and 1.8t aren't really old cars but they've been around for a while w/o any real mention... the s2000 was really hot when it first came out and it died off now they are making a come back i think it seems to be the civic guys step up... as far as the 1.8t it is also old b/c the gen v 2.0L turbo are out, plus the 5 years they have been out they are now really coming around int he general import scene... and stock for stock its still faster than the rest of the fwd class in its price range. you could get base 1.8t cheaper even then the srt4 (under 20k) :goodjob:

What class is the 1.8 t? Passat? Golf ? GTI? The passat 1.8t is weak. STOCK But I believe is AWD? is it? Dont know much about VW's .. I think I read is 170 HP at the crank.. stock ?

The GTI 1.8 has 180 stock. Not bad, But is not the highest in its class, depending what you are comparing it to?

but what were the running years of that car & base had to be over 20k... still never the less it would make good # if not not possible more hp, but the lbs would be way weaker

the #'s i listed are from 00-01 models, 02-04 will be higher more like 160+hp/170+lbs(factory 180hp/200lbs)... still looking 20+hp/20+lbs.
