ok so i was looking at a car and it had no title but he said he could get one and was filling out the paper work for one? does this mean it will be a salvage title?

also a salvage title? i know what it is in a way but what does it really mean? i know it would be a totalled car that was fixed or somthing but are there any real dissadvantages?

thanks.

Make sure he gets title in hand before any transaction is made. It could be a lost title that he is applying for. I bought an 02 eclipse from a car lot in Feb. 07. They went out of business and I got screwed with a car sitting in my driveway. I just got a hold of a title after not being able to drive it for over a year. It but was a lot of headache and stress...

yeah im currently waiting on the title for a car im buying. the guy who had the title lost it. now we have applyed for a new one and have 2 wait 30 days

as for you i was always told not 2 buy a car with a salvaged title. i dont really know of any big disadvantages. really its up to what u want to do. dont be surprised tho if there is really something wrong with the car

What is the deal with people losing titles?

It's called a file, that goes in a filing cabinet. PUT IT IN THERE.

Yeah, I would check into it first to see why he is having to send off for the title...

If you have to get a bonded title, have fun. That **** was a pain in the ass, took six months. Six months!

Be careful, it can be done but I sure dont wanna do it again.

^^What he said, talk to a legal specialist about it. I had to do one about 5 years ago, cost $100.
