It isn't really that bad right now, give it 6-9 more months to really see it in bad shape

yeah the stock market is most always in the red.

i wonder what would happen if we dont have to spend $12 billion a month on war right now. and yes that is the actual number. 12 billion dollars each month to support a futile war. so much you can do with 12 billion dollars.

dont forget the cost of the war is around $3 trillion.

i should move to europe

Init2winit, by dont you kindly explain the point i am missing instead of being an *******? cause i dont really see what your talking about with it "being over my head"

its facts, not an opinion.. what is there not to understand, we are out more than 12 billion bucks a month, how can that not be bad for an economy, no matter who we borrowed it from... its going to catch up.

please explain this point that you keep talking about yet fail to specify.

economys are always like a sine wave though... so it will bounce back.

so many things to take into account though for en economy. population changes maybe?
just some interesting facts about the global state:
-it took all of human history up to 1830 to reach 1 billion people population
-1830 to 1927: less than 100 years to reach 2 billion population
- 6 billion today
- 10 billion by 2050

in the USA:
1960 - 186 million people
1980 - 231 million
2000 - 285 million

Now the Neo-Malthus theory says population increases way way faster than our ability to produce sustanince. so i guess that over time many many things will cost much more. Yet we come up with new technology to save our asses.

economy can be a butterfly effect of a thousand things, but still... 12 billion dollars a month is a huge hole in america's pocket.

also america uses 20.5 million barrels of oil a day compared to russia's 3 mil, japan's 5 mil, and china's 7 million a day. that has an effect on everything, cause every product you buy gets to the store by a giant truck, which uses a lot of fuel to get around. products such as food: http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/wayoflife/04/11/economy.food.shopping.ap/index.html

im hungry now, so ill wrap this up.

So what exactly went over my head? what point am i missing? this is a discussion about the economy and why it is in its current state. Were you planning to talk about Harry Potter books and Asian porn? cause i was going to talk about the economy if you dont mind.

most of the time, economic distress is horribly fed by the press constantly bombarding a ****ty outlook into our heads, which scares everyone more and it just goes from there.

Damn I knew the media was behind our shlty economy, its like that James Bond Movie "Die another Day".

Wars ,Oil, Politics play no part in economic process, it is Cnn fault. I bet Fox News is the only reason why our economy hasnt fully tanked
