At the stroke of midnight, American beer drinkers were no longer breaking the law when they broke open a beer.

1 of 3 Breweries and beer lovers around the country are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the return of beer on April 7, 1933, as the Prohibition era was drawing to a close.

It wasn't quite the end of Prohibition, and it wasn't quite beer, but after 14 thirsty years, it was close enough.

What became available that day was only 3.2 percent alcohol by weight (compared with up to 5 percent in full-strength beer), but still, it was a step up from the virtually alcohol-free "near beer" that had been sold since 1920.

Hulud: "Hey Ran, try this man. Sweetwater 420. Best. Beer. Ever."

Ran takes a swig and proceeds to spend the rest of the party doing a handstand over the toilet.

why bud light?

i like darker beers so ideally i'd take a trappist beer. westvleteren or rochefort. but since i haven't seen those anywhere in the states yet, a good every day beer would be duvel.

the darker beers, to me, has a consistency that does not go well with me. i like a smooth, cold, refreshing, light beer. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

oh yeah i definitely understand that, everyone has their own tastes. i grew up in europe and was exposed to mainly tons of varieties of german and belgian beers, and for some reason i just developed a taste for the dark stuff.

i was just wondering of all the light beers why bud light. there's better tasting stuff imo. then again taste is one of those things that there's no arguing.
