Is it necessary to have to tools ( spanner wrenches) to adjust coil overs or can it be done by hand?

it can be done by hand , i never had "the tool " to adjust mine , its not exactly fun but very feasible

no, but it makes it EZer if u have one...

Flat head and a hammer on the collar works when it's siezed onto the threads so I guess it would work for you too. :)
