It does matter what people think of the car and you should want to receive negative/positive feedback in order to better yourself and your company. It would be in your companies best interest to have a car that follows the current trend, or at least looks presentable, for obvious reasons. That car should represent your company just as much as your friend's personal taste or lack thereof. You really should let your emotions slide for the sake of your company's reputation.
