Ive been fuming for days now about this. So now I will vent.

Anyone ever used freecreditreport.com? Its a fuggin scam, people. I went to their site and got the one-time credit report last April. What I didnt know was that they signed me up for a "monthly credit monitoring" service called CIC Triple advantage.

What it does is deduct a small, usually un-noticed, amount from the account you used to get your free credit report. I def didnt notice the 13 dollar-a-month charges. I finally noticed last month when scrutinizing my credit card statement.

I typed in CIC triple advantage into google to see what was up and bam, about 50,000 hits came up, all of them about how CIC is a scam company that is attached to Freecreditreport.com. Called them up and tried to cancel, but they kept giving me a line saying that they cancelled it and it will take 2 hours to recieve the confirmation email. Never got one. Even after 6 calls and asking to cancel 6 times.

I got fed up and called my credit card company today. They refunded two of the charges and are putting a block on them. Small victory considering I had already been jipped $150+. Hopefully the story ends here.

They moral of the story: DONT USE FREECREDITREPORT.COM!!!! They will PWN YOU!

I wrote that myself 5 mins ago. But if you look at the google search for CIC Triple advantage, all the stories are pretty identical.

Their commercials say at the end that it requires an enrollment in triple advantage.

Also, you get one a year free by law, directly from each reporting agency.

Yup. And there is small print during the rest of the commercial on the bottom. It is mean of them to prey on stupid people though.

They are now required to, early last year it was no holds bar for them. FTC fined them for the last 3 years.

I just let them draw it out and pull it as many times as i want.I went thrue the same thing but still use them because hey u might be able to block the cc but they have your SS# so if they were gonna fu** u thats the way they would do it because u didnt read all the print and then blocked them from your cc...

thats not really your "free" credit report, thats something you get for enrolling in the service. to get the free one you have to go to a totally different website. how do i know?? i use to work for them.
