I know a lot about these cars but I need PERSONAL Owner Feedback from those who actually deal with them day to day.
I'm most likely going to pick up an 05-06 3.5SE Manual. I've come to the conclusion that i will not pick up a G37 for the simple fact that just don't feeling like paying over 30k for a car whether it's cash or finance.
I'm a loyal Nissan guy and I know that Altimas produce so give me your personal testimonials on these cars :D
Looking for a White 05-06 Manual with Black leather (Yeah i know)
I would only do an 03/04 if the price is super right.
I want to hear about:
Build Quality (Noises/Suspension etc.)
Gas Consumption
Oil Consuption (Where applicable)
Engine Power
Transmission performance
Interior/Exterior
Overall Satisfaction
Loves and hates
Etc.
etc.
Thanks Guys!

Not anything too big.
White 3.5SE with my own personal SE-R Package ;) (Front/Rear bumper, Wheels) No SE-R badge though LOL
Nice Drop, Intake/Exhaust Maybe a header package and that's it.
I'm out of the whole Racing Deal after I sold my Blacktop S13 - i was done.
i just wanted to know how it is day to day as an owner of one of these.
Thanks

go here, atlimas.net , there seems to be a unsolved clunking noise from the front suspension, from 2002 to current models. but can be easily fixed by tighten a few botls under the cowl though. other than that, its one great car!! 3.5 owns the 2.5 hands down

well i have an 02 altima 3.5 SE. These cars are lil bigger then that honda you had kevy kev. lol when i bought mines i was like dayumm this a big ass car. But hey more room for more hoes...lol
1) The build quality is pretty solid. some people say the interior looks cheap. myabe in the 02-04 but the 05+ looks a lot better. as far as suspension when it's lowered it handles very good. but notice stock the rear sits lower then the front because the fenders are bigger on the rear. I would use tein springs or coilovers. I have eibach but i will be swicthing over soon. as far as noises i havent really noticed any.
2) gas, gas, gas. I have intake, header, exhaust and technosquare reflash. I fill my tank up and it will last a week. One tank full of premuim is 60 bucks
3)hummm oil consumption. well my car burns about quart or two between oil changes depending on how i drive it. I just keep an eye on it. some burn some dont. BUT it states in the owner's manual that the engine will do this.
4) being that this is the same engine in the 350z and g35 just fwd. Its a torque monster. power is good. just be careful once modded you will be getting a ticket or two so be careful.
5) my tranny felt weak when i had my altima or shold i say my clutch felt week. Long engaugement, and wasnt gripping. I replaced it witha competion clutch stage 2 clutch. damn thing grips good :D but stop and go traffic isnt fun. Nissan has some ****ty slave cylinders and clutch master cylinders. I have replaced my slave cylinder but im working on replacing my master. I dont know what years these apply too. but i have heard guys on nissanclub.som say all years are like that.
6)well lets be real this is one sexy car. well to me it is. i love the exterior and i love the interior. very comfy on road trips. Wish i had leather.
7) im satisfied with my whip. need some suspension work and extrior work but other then that. she has been good. Had it for three years and put about 80k miles on it. only had to replace the maf sensor, battery, starter and major tune up. did all this myself.
8) my loves are room car with good power. my hates are wish there was more aftermarket stuff available. also you plan on doing headers be adviseed that they have not been able to get the check engine light off of the 05+ models. also these cars come with a timing chain, i look these better.
they way your talking about hooking it up it will fa sho be a head turner. I will be doing some things to my car as well you will see in a couple months. I cant tell you though... ancient chinese secret :ninja:
now rep me and sell me old parts when you start modding it

DAMN, Exactly the write up i was looking for!
Haha More room for the hoes LOL.
The only two cars that I considered "mine" were my '96 Altima and the Boosted S13. If you saw me in a Honda, it was most likely part of my inventory. LOL
Altimas Dot Net... Ahhhhh Where to begin... Put it this way, I was Member # 50. had some great times on that site '99 - 2003 maybe 2004.
Site started changing and got wack REAL FAST.
My 1st Forum..IA was second.

the 3.5s fix almost all of the problems with the altimas. the 2.5s are utter crap. working at a nissan dealership, there were always 2-3 2.5s a day. i think i have had to actually fix one or two 3.5s in over a year and a half, they are very reliable. there were a good bit of recalls done, make sure to have a nissan dealership check the vin to see if they were all done or not. any kind of engine part for a maxima will fit it too btw, in case you needed something and couldnt find a 3.5 altima laying around. btw 02-03 had the most problems, most of the bugs have been worked out in the later years.

yea you are right! I have an early 02 model, she has been good to me. Probably because i replaced everything i heard was bad on it with 05 parts. The only major problem i had was oil getting in through valve cover to the spark plugs. all fixed now 125k miles and running strong.

^ Inner/outer gasket set solved that right?
keep the info coming guys!

I had the same issue with fast accelerating and the foul odor smell. Now that I have my exhaust I don't really smell it anymore.

sulfuric "rotten eggs" smell?
That would be a CAT issue.

As we expected, Impossible to find the one I want, Might have to scrap it and get a TL.
My 1st gen altima is 5 speed so I might actually get an 05-06 TL Auto (the ones with the good trannys)
Get some Luxury nah mean?

cant believe the 2.5 is a dual exhaust. When the 3.5 altia came out u could get a base for like 20k

^ I'm not a fan of the 4th gen Altima at all. They skip generations for me
93-97 NICE
98-01 (so -so)
02-06 Nice (Especially SE-R)
07+ -Maybe it'll grow on me....... still waiting

TSX's LOOK great, however; they are underpowered man I don't want to have to boost just to get some resonable torque number. I had a problem with the TSXs ever since they were first released, they just seemed too expensive to be a 4cyl although it has "class"

I've been Driving a 1.6 liter vtec civic for the past 1.5 weeks so i'm good on gas.
the Alt needs a MT tranny mount since the recent auto to manual conversion so it's parked. My accord, well it's for sale so i'm not driving that. I've got 4 cylinders to spare, I need something that can go uphill with ease :D
