Electron Blue C5 Z06 vs ZO-Sick this past Friday, 3/29/08

I saw this red Z06 in the staging lanes with license plate "ZOSICK" I saw him line up with another vette so I ran to the stands.

I don't know the mods on either but damn are they fast. The blue one won :eek:

ya i didnt do a good burn out at all and didnt slip the clutch i just over powered it to much, (thats whats practice is for) but the next run i made i beat his 60ft on that run and i still was spinning at 8.0 and 102 in the 8th.

if it dont rain tommorrow ill be working on the launch at sdr!
i went to mainly to practice and figure out my set up so i can get my et's down for sunday. which i think i figured out some of my problems :crazy:

Josh the facts are you cant drive for **** off the line at a dragstrip. No shame in that. With practice maybe you can become really good at it. You also got a 10 second car if you can ever get it down the track properly. I NEVER learned to drive a stick well which is why i bought an auto eventually. Hopefully you will be able to master the manual tranny....get a 10sec slip and with a LOT less machismo, get the respect of your peers cause the car has got some killer ETs in it.

I think its funny that Josh got beat at the track, on 345 DR's, ON VIDEO and the excuses just started pouring from the get.

I suck at launching and am truly scared to leave the line hard. In my book that is fine with me as I gotta pay for it if it breaks. Josh wanted to make excuses that he over powered it, and didnt do a good burnout, and :blah: .............

You have to light DR's up good.. Their soul purpose is to get hot as ****.. Make sure it is a 2nd gear burnout to because it's not the RPM but the MPH that gets em good and hot. Also clutch before you start moving again if you want to save your clutch. Also Commerce is the worst track ever for getting out of the hole. You will get better and I have no doubt you will have 10 sec pass with a little more practice and a new tranny. Do you have a line lock? If not you should get one

Do you guys have traction control? I know it seems pretty lame but it works, lotsa people use it to get way fast...also might want to consider a second gear launch, might reduce the tire slip and hook the deal up. One more thing, most street tires do not react well to any kind of wet burn out and they benefit from a couple dry hops just to get the water and $hit off the tires, I noticed you had nobody sweeping your lane and that is worth up to 1/2 sec on street cars with crappy tires, yup

If you want some good handling street tires that run like hell at the track, look up some venerable Yokahama A008's I hooked a 1.50 60' in an 89 Camaro 15 years ago with them, car only went 14.20@105 with only a 160* thermostat running open loop MAF and about 325 hp.

Also, it might pay to purchase a set of cheap wheels and slicks ( prolly $300-$400 ) and not burn up $500 tires that will never hook anyway, JMHO.

Keep on practicing and your results will improve...

your starting to hate alot lately its cool though.. i started talking about coming out to the track and u start back pedaling like hell, just come out for FUN, there were people running all kind of cars, u dont have to be fast its the experience and of being around real racing and learning about your car, not standing in a parking lot talking about racing. :thinking:
