And comment about it just being a civic seems to be hate. What wrong with civics? It's funny how people look at Civics like they are at the bottom of the food chain. Especially when they are to thank for the today's import scene. Seriously without Civics, there would be no importatlanta :lmfao:

I like the Si Sedan. $23K is definately worth it. Mugen Si for $28K....hmmmm too close to $30K for it's own good. $40K? Anything in that price range on something known for being an etremely good economy car should've came with that RDX 2.3L turbo, the intelligent AWD, along with those other features found in the RR. It's still front drive and that alone tells me it's a waste of effort and being that neither turbo nor awd drivetrain is offered (even though it can be available), this is an epic fail. It looks nice though, but not worth the price.

I like it, its very aggressive looking. Its extremely fast around a track, 240hp from the k20a. For $40k its not just a civic. Most of the blasphemous remarks being made are from people who believe that awd and turbocharging is the only way to make a fast car. 1:06 around Tsukuba is beating your beloved Evos and STI's, stock for stock. Hell the fully gutted Time Attack cars in the fwd class are running around 1:03 around tsukuba. Some people just dont like honda b/c they dont have 5 RWD cars in each lineup. For $40k i would probably rather have a 135i or something but its still a respectable car.

Boost is actually the "cheap" way to make power. N/A power takes more R&D therefor most of the time costs more.

You gotta realize what the purpose of the Mugen cars. You will never see a turbo (with the exception of the 3rd gen civic/1st gen crx) or 500-600hp car from mugen because that power is only good in straight lines. Mugen cars are designed for the track not strip. Plus, massive hp would decrease the overall performance of this car because it would be more difficult to drive (on the track). This 240hp car will whoop up on many cars with more hp on the track due to R&D. When you take a car that's near perfect from the factory (civic type r) and make it better your going to expect to get paid. So I say the price is fair for the car (and the people that were on the waiting list would agree also).

Stop saying 50k, the price tag was only 40k! And all 300 cars were reserved in 10 minutes.
Instead of competing in the rwd world. Mugen took a car and made it the best in fwd world. It is not a regular Civic that has been modified, or even an Si, it's a modified TYPE R, which has always held a much higher price tag anyways.
The blue Mugen Si over here is a joke, but this Mugen RR is bada*s.
They even have an experimental spec RR which is rated at 260bhp.

260bhp is pretty damn good for a lil honda n/a. im guessin most people that does buy this car more for it rarity then its hp. and im betting that they all have money. and yeh honestly if i had money i would not mind havin it but if all i got is 50k then **** that!
Most people with money who collect cars for rarity usually have standards to the collection and id say 99% of car collectors dont have or consider any honda to date a true "collector"

Its a honda they're everywhere right? That is your own opinion. anyone can like these lil tuner car even the rich ass fukers. Hondas, nissan, ford, ect. they are everywhere yet all of them do have cars that are rare and limited. Only reason why no one consider honda a "collectable" is because honda never really made anything worth collecting or rare. A RR is a beautiful lil civic in my opinion and who would buy them right? Yet all 300 of them is already sold is it not?
Yeh, if thats what u think then ok. Dont buy it, its your choice. When we get money u buy your lil mustang cobra thing and ill buy my lil honda RR toy. Some things are worth it to other people some things arent and thats just how it is. As of Right now i dont have any money i wouldnt even buy that damn civic but its nice lil honda to me.

I've owned cars aside from Honda myself. I am not defending the car in the sense of practicality nor its market price tag. My standpoint is that it is a great car and worthy of something. I just don't see why it and the people who like it are being ridiculed.
If I had 40k, I would buy a house, not a car.

Okay, let me try to give some suggestions as to what they could've done.
*First off, K23 block (boost)
*K20A heads with a mild set of turbo cams (Something that could still meet ULEV status)
*A small mitsubishi turbo (maybe a 14B or slightly bigger, not too much bigger)
*SH-AWD
*Same perfect suspension
*Same perfect brakes
I garunteed that this car would out handle the RR any day of the week. Not to mention out power it in the corners. With the small turbo it's gonna spool damn near off idle improving the midrange by alot. So that way when VTEC actually kicks in, the smaller turbo will help the effeciency of the engine thereby making slightly even more HP with way more tq.

If I had the money that is the last thing I would buy. I'd finish my 240, buy a c6 z06 as a daily (great warranty on a fast car) and invest/save the rest. I would certainly not pay 50k for a car when I could easily build a superior vehicle for less.

Your argument holds no weight. Your only standpoint is that you dislike it because it's a Honda. And what's obvious is that, 95% of people hating on it are not Honda owners.
And it's only 40K!!!!!!This is a Direct quote from the article about the price. I was a proud owner of a 96 Accord wagon but the buy in is still to F'n high to justify. IMO............................................... ............Tetsu says, "The parts for Mugen RR are special parts for Japanese market. Mugen is not selling any Mugen RR parts for Civic Type-R now." This means you can't call a Mugen distributor for these parts, even if you've swapped the JDM front and rear end pieces onto your U.S. Civic; the only way you're going to get these is if you buy the hong Kong knock-offs or are one of the lucky 300 in Japan who can actually order one at nearly $50K USD
