I give Sam from Tiger Racing AAA++ on his work. I've seen it and I never seen any of his customers go back to his shop cause of a mistake or "fuck up" he made.

looks pretty slow. Tiger racing is one of the best shops for Nissan/RX7 stuff imo..Sam knows his stuff and has great prices.

One of my boys took his Fd3s motor over there for a rebuild, extra dowell pins, and 3mm apex seals, and a street port. Sam told him that it would take 6 weeks, its been over 4 monthes and it still hasn't been completed. And the 10+ times we have been there he has been working on one of his own cars 90% of the time. No joke he does know his shit and he does do great work, but be aware that you will be missing your car for a while. He said the motor should be done on wednesday so I will keep you guys posted.

I'm sure there is more to this. He did my friends 93 FD..full rebuild with a single T78 kit and it took nowhere near that long to finish.

Aaron made the sale on April 7 and still my friend has no motor. Sam has said for the last 6 weeks it was supposed to be ready that weekend, and when he drove up to the shop sure enough it wasn't completed. He has even told us that he hasn't been working diligently, and "doesn't feel like working on a rotary." He said "he has to get into the mindframe of working on a rotary." I would think a couple thousand dollar deposit would get him in the mindframe. When did he do that work for your buddy??

It was around the fall of 2003 i believe.

I'm not one to argue. But give Sam a break. His shop's been busy latley. Also, if you were to have gone there, last month same broke BOTH his feet. yea, both. Don't worry, your friend will be more than happy with his new 13B

Uhh no they aren't. They are just slightly newer and mechanically the same s13 to s13. Still a billion of them laying around.

The black top notch type are harder to come by because they come from S14-15. They have variable timing and t28 turbo. It wasn't worth it in my case because the first thing i did when I bought the red top was yank out the t25, sold it and bought a top mount manifold with a gt32.

As for how much, you have to talk to him so he can break it down to you in prices, options and time span.

So honestly what do you guys think red top/ black top/ Rb25...? Its going in a 96 240sx. With a turbo upgrade on the red top it should be competitive right..? The only reason i was asking cause i know the 240 for that year are kinda portly...heavy...?

RED TOP! RB's lil on the expensive side but thats just my opinion! Black tops are hard to come by!

The s14 only weighed around 54lbs more than the s13 depending on which options you had.

I met him before he is a nice guy. He took me for a ride in his 240, he driftered it of course. I don't know of many shops that would do that with a customer. That would be Jason with the red fd. He has had his motor over at sammys shop since feb. I don't think it should take that long to get the work done on that engine. He wasn't even getting the whole motor built just a engine rebuild.
