looks like you forgot to put the cotter in in the bottom ball joint.

A bat between the fender and tire works just fine, make sure to heat the paint up though.

I think autogrip is selling a red fender for your car a few threads down in the marketplace. Sucks though, good luck.

yea i guess. I just had the car fixed from somebody here in import atlanta and i dont know if it could have been them that forgot to put the bolt on and i just dont want to throw out any names until i find out it was really them.


So did someone forget to put the LBJ nut on or what?

yeah if you had any swap/clutch/tranny/axle/suspension work... most likely they left the nut loose or forgot to put the cotter pin back in... but yeah just be glad you were moving slow... and hopefully whoever fucced it up will get you another fender...

EXACT same thing happened to my buddy in his hatch.. the pin came out and the nut loosened and his looked identical! but his cv axle got ripped apart as well..

Damn I've been there before... The cotter pin had came loose then the F'n nut backed off and it was all over, same wheel and everything on my car... Mine didn't hit the fender as bad, luckily I did it slower:doh:

that was a cold statement meant for me. I told you and your father that i do not take out the lower ball joints to take the axles out when doing a clutch job. I always take out the upper part to take out the axles. its easier. Please, if you want to blame someone, then say out the name. I am not afraid of it, as i have already told you about it. I have done many clutch jobs for alot of IA folks. :goodjob:

Yeah, no need to take the lower out to do a clutch job...

But sucks that happened, I'd have a wheel fall off...tire place didn't tighten the lugs, just hand tight, wheel came off doing about 30mph...OUCH..

IDK, it looks like it BROKE to me, not just fell out. I don't see how that could come from anything but hitting a curb, HUGE hole, etc. though.
