This isn't necessarily a rant, it's just bothered me over the past couple of years and 81911SC's thread about his roommate and calling him a "n1gger" and everyone getting all huffy puffy, so then the word racist gets thrown around...
I can't stand it when someone calls someone racist without even knowing what they're saying, just b/c someone uses a racial slur doesn't make them a racist, it means they're discriminatory towards that race or that particular person
a racist is defined as
-a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others
discrimination is defined as
-treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit: racial and religious intolerance and discrimination
a bigot is defined as
-a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion

oh and everyone discriminates, you'd be lieing to yourself and everyone else if you said you didn't
