I was walking around the mall looking for a birthday present for my friend then something caught my eye.
I passed by Payless Shoes and saw some plain white shoes and said to myself, "hmmm I wonder what I could do with those"
Anyway I snagged a pair for $20 and was thinking what to do with them.
After a couple of hours I thought of something simple yet intriguing. I had a wallpaper of the rising sun and it looked badass as hell so it was kind of an inspiration for the design.
I got to work on the shoes and I like what I did so far. Obviously they're not some baller ass shoes cause they're not finished yet but wanted some feedback on what else I should do like add kanji, other japanese stuff, etc.
I was thinking about putting Ni-hon in kanji on the tongue somewhere in the middle but I haven't decided if that'll look good or not.
Also I'm going to put a red sun on the back and plan on filling in the very top part of the shoe red.
Later on I want to get some sneakers and do some tagwork on it, but for now I just wanted to see how I would do with a simple design. Any other thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, negative or positive.
Thanks in advance

if you used washable markers you could wash them and redo them in a different style all the time so it gives the impression that you have a million pairs of shoes

after I did my shoe I was wondering if someone had done them already and did a google image search and those are what I saw
although they're similar I think the lines flow a little better on my design

after taking Scrappy's suggestion into consideration, I found a fine tip dark navy blue to outline the red. (sorry I just thought it complimented it better than silver because the sole is navy blue :D )
although it isn't exactly the way I wanted it to come out I think it's decent.
I just need to go over the lines a couple more times to give it a finished look and gonna use a couple more mediums to preserve the color
I know some of the lines aren't exactly straight but I'm freehanding all of this so I'm gonna go back and try to fix them
whaddya think so far?
oh yea- the Dexter logo on the back is coming off but I haven't decided what I'm going to do for that yet. any suggestions?

Nice dude! Wear them to the meet!
Oh, and you might be able to use a hairdryer to warm up the glue on that Dexter label and just pull it right off.
