plus the fact that cylinder number 3 was blowing a quart of oil past the rings every 2-3 tanks of gas and it was running on 3 cylinders due to fouling plugs... then when it lost spark i just said f*ck it.

except the thing is, i needed a new motor/rebuild when i bought the car and i knew it, and i had the motor to go in it from my previous miata. the one in it was running on 3 cylinders and needed mounts. since it broke and i was already planning the swap when i bought the car, what would be the point in wasting my time diagnosing an electrical problem on a p.o.s motor with bad rings on one cylinder? there is no point in that, so im just gonna go ahead and do the work i shouldve done in the first place.

plugs wires and maybe a new distributor CHECK your distributor wires.. my old $600 van had 1 hanging loose an the whole thing wouldnt spark... thats why it was $600 (1 wire could be the problem ya never know)
