Alot of demand for a Mountain run is around the corner so I figured i'd organize one. I know alot of good roads and if we get a good and responsible group we can not only do this location but my private location...

better watch out for the law...y'allz info r too specific. they might tail y'all. :???: im sorry but ive been on many many mtn runs that are posted in open public forums with all the details the route, the time, everything and i have never seen a cop. there is a monthly mtn run that my350z goes on and on g35frenzy we go quiet often and the route and times are all posted. there is nothing illegal about a mtn run. but now when your posting up a street race time and place then your getting the cops attention. mtn run dont necessarily mean speed and illegal activity. but your street racing is just that.

No offense to Elise owners but you can almost instantly tell an Exige owner isn't messing around compared to an Elise..you don't have that enclosed cockpit to look fantabulous. I've messed around with a few on the track and they are nothing short of amazing..With the new power bump they are an all around 10 track day car in my book.

Awesome man. I'd bring street tires. The pavement and debris factor isn't so great up there. My kosei's and toyo's are staying at home hah.

I bet there is one, maybe 2 drivers on this board that can reach the limit and even know where it is at of their WRX/STi. That is almost 100% driver skill.

My biggest issue is the people coming near me and sliding all over the place, then get to the top and say "Man I can't believe I was keeping up with your car" :blah::blah::blah:

People go up there and think they are some sort of god, cutting across double yellows to hit an apex, sliding around corners. It is a mountain cruise with some spirited driving. If you are going up there because you think people are racing each other then stay home. I will push hard in some sections and I will only do it with people I know, and know how to drive. I know they are watching mirrors, I know they have situational awareness. Not just switching lanes, shifting and braking in corners and whatever else they deem necessary so they can "keep up with that M3 on Blood Mountain".

if i order new tires they won't be in on time. I got good tires on my 19's, but my luck....1 is sligtly bent. I am just going up there to cruise, and won't be pushing it anywhere close to it's limit.

/end rant yeah thats when people bounce off Blood mtn. but i totally agree with people trying to keep up with some other type of car that is much faster. and i only sprit in certain places that i know. and crossing the double yellow is a big no no.

a weak singnal will do....all u need to do is hit the call button to warn us about :police:. I have no clue where in the hell we are meeting up once we get there...i guess pick a gas station or restaurant as a meeting point close to the base of the mountain and roll from there.

I live in Sandy springs and shoot up 400. Do we need to assemble a 400 crew? I am assuming the Walmart in Dahlonega is the meeting point? That's pretty much the last best spot to meet at the base thats big enough for a big group. There's also the Chevron at the end of 400 for those that need to get gas (usually me since I burn a quarter tank getting there)

I know 85 people can meet on PLeasanthill or by the Mall of Ga and cut across, Pleasanthill will probably be the best, just remember its a good 25 min from 400 and another 30-40 from the Walmart.

I can't wait people! I may even have to post pone my motor swap for this one

And up there radios are only as good as far as you can see. Police even have problems with radios up there, that's almost a good thing :goodjob:

But I don't think we need to worry about them. My main concer is going early and fog/dew being on the mountain

I just went up and it was pretty busy for a Tuesday afternoon with bikers and other travelers. One cop passed us on our way downhill, I'm surprised he didn't turn around.

There were construction crews at the base cleaning up and surveying, hopefully they aren't planning on starting something this weekend.

Honestly I am not too happy with my new Falken Ziex's but I did try push them into turn's hard with less than 100 miles on them so I'm sure they will be better once broken in, hopefully by this run.

considering the forgivingness of FF platforms if you outrun me personally in a rwd car in a comparible FF car you need to pack up and leave our group before you swing it off a cliff or meet me at the track.

North of 85 - take 20 off of 400 ( in Cumming ) directly east and you'll come up on the Walmart and such just after you pass 985 on the left

be careful up there. I was with some other 350z's up there last Sunday. Fuggin every 5 minutes we were slowing down to pass cyclists hogging the damn road practicing for the Tour de GA. When we finally caught some clear roads we opened it up some. . . right past a freaking Federal officer going the opposite way in an SUV. We were doing about 80 on a straight. He turned around and i didn't know it so we kept going. . .I slow up 15 min. down the road for some Harley riders and then hear sirens and lights:police: . He pulled both of us over. He said he did 100 mph for 4 miles to catch up. . .if the bikers had not been in the way he woulda never come close. 75mph in a 45= $275 fine.:(

Thats fine, lol, On your way to Blood Mountain stop at the gas station at the end of 400 where I'm sure you will see us. We can go through Dahlonega, run the mountain clock wise through Wolf Pen, then shoot over to Helen.

phucking amazingly good run. R34 Skyline, Turbo M3, Nice WRX's, 400whp Sti and lots of other nice cars. No cops, only a very few bikers on the two lane sections and tons of other bikes doing what we were doing and going up and down. Props to Rafa for beating that 600 to 130. That was hilarious. There will be video's soon. I came back early to go to work but they should still be running.

i got back to exit 10 (windward) at like 5:15ish. Rafa took his woman to see lake lanier and how low it is. i lol'd at some people that thought the wolf pen gap was to tight. but now that i think about it it is. i like the 129 double lane.


the route we took was the figure 8. if you look on a map it really looks like it.


nice meeting everyone. only one guy in a civic hatch add a little handling issue at first. but we all worked out the bugs.

Lol, I wanted to get a highway pull in before we departed but I got off too early. The last G I ran from a light I pulled up until 3rd gear while I was testing out a leaky intake and only getting 8 lbs of boost. I think that was before my flash too so who knows. Plus your not stock either....

Lol, I wanted to get a highway pull in before we departed but I got off too early. The last G I ran from a light I pulled up until 3rd gear while I was testing out a leaky intake and only getting 8 lbs of boost. I think that was before my flash too so who knows. Plus your not stock either.... what are you talking about im stock... lol i have no PSI lol....

All he needs to do is more track days and he won't feel the need to take such an aggressive line on the street. Good driving though. If anyone is crossing the double line behind me i'd prefer it being rafa.

...I use to think the same way......but Dirty Mech. is right......downshifting and modulating your brakes like you normaly do is all the same up there.....the only difference is the scenary is better......

I'd agree to some degree but some turns you can literally see 500 yards ahead and thats o.k ish. However riding the inside line is the first advice I get any noob..not going NEAR the double yellow

Ok, ok, ok, I'm sorry for crossing the 2l yellow.

At least let me explain my self.

Just to make it clear at any point but 2 times I was driving my car to it’s full 100% potential. If you ask me how hard I was driving it hard overall I will have to say around 65 to 75% of it full potential. (my tunable suspension wasn’t even set-up for cornering is set-up to minimize tire wear).

Full potential: Tire traction, suspension, brakes and power wise.


To prove a point if you see when I’m chasing the camera there is time to time I’m cornering and my 2 driver side tires are over the paint stripes and in any of those turns I lose control of my car, why b/c the car was not at its max traction or cornering capabilities.

Now you might think he must to been driving hard to drift the car around that turn, well in reality that drift was text book and one of the simple ones you could do… what am I talking about…. I enter the corner just like in the previous run (camera in the car) but I stay in my brakes a bit longer and then shift my weight to the rear by rolling in the throttle gradually until the rear tires lose traction. Why I did not correct it, number 1 I was there to have fun, number 2 I knew I have enough space to drift it corrected with out even stepping in to on coming traffic and 3rd my sister was bitching about my not drifting when I could…. So I just went for it.

Yes there was one time where I got carried away and enter on single turn to hot and had to cause a over steer to not get off the road, but if I would the was plenty of natural padding to stop me (not in video).

So from all of that time only once I over drove my tires brakes etc….

The yellow:
I think I was the only one with a co-pilot in the runs. Me and my little sister were running in a Rally configuration team. She will have the long vision: keep her eyes in the next corners and count cars and tell me if I could go wide or not. While I was concentrating in the short vision: making sure I drove the safest lane and adjusting speed to up coming road conditions (change in asphalt, oil water or fluids, and giving room to drivers). Same set-up my uncle and I used when I did Rally back in me teenager years




So I have 4 ayes instead 2 and I kicked you’all ass b/c of that….. just kidding. My sister and I had a blast!
