Naibst, Robbie, and AccordRICE can suck my ****............

I am swapping in a BP with the G series trans, for a mid 13s 1/4 mile, but then going turbo MUCH later, which yields mis 12s 1/4 mile. No need for sho.

The sho swaps don't handle very well, and I like FWD handling.

I have better suspension and brakes to go on the car waiting in my basement.

This car is not my daily, just my fool around toy. You guys don't need to be so critical about car choices here. I picked this car because I like the looks, designed by mazda(thus excepting mazda engines) cool interiors, GREAT handling with my suspension swap, and it is light as hell. 1800lbs fully loaded interior, swap, and A/C

Here is my freinds with a BP swap.

what g series trans are you gonna use? and what suspension are you using?

AV8ter
03-23-2008, 09:42 AM
The hydo one the Protege LXs come with.

The suspension is from the Ford Aspire(2nd gen Festiva) 400 lbs more than the Festiva so the brakes and suspension were upgraded to compensate. Rears suspension has an integrated sway bay and the front is better too. Oh and much better brakes.

Every once in awhile tire rack throws KYBs on sale for $25 each so I am waiting for that, and will use Ground Control for springs.

Why don't you grow the **** up and realize that not everyone buys into the import/tuner/rice/JDM trends?

I like being different unlike all you other goons that copy each others "clean" rides.

I am going to have a very fast, nice handling car that I will enjoy for low cost.

Anything else?

Coilovers=$1000

Kybs+Ground Control=$300

BP with festiva trans, you have to cut the fire wall, BP with G trans pushes engine away from fire wall(no cutting).

pushing the motor forward will ruin the handling. and g trans is a crap trans with a 7 inch clutch. BOOM! lol

AV8ter

You are confused?

Festiva trans can take 100hp max, 50hp with a beating. There is NO WAY to put down power with a festiva trans. Upgrading the stock clutch will just make things worse.

BP with the G trans(G trans is what always come with the BP and B6T) moves the engine foward 2''. Not that big of a deal.

I will lower the crossmember 1'' which will in turn only move the engine out 1''. Wont affect handling in a negative fasion.

How do you know about Festivas Jesse?

i had an aspire before my miata... lol

the g trans IS better than a festy trans, but not by much. i know a guy with a b6t swap and a big snail who goes through g trannies once a year, hes only making 160 hp and 150 tq. your clutches wont last long either, even the heavy heavy duty ones for a g trans only handle around 140 hp/tq

man i bet ur friends car flies.. with the bp in it.

i always wanted to drive a bp powered festiva...

and jesse, there is a guy on IA who live in stone mountain, that makes 350hp/318tq on a stock g tranny in a protege, and it has held up just fine, and still is. i owned a mx3 with a built bp and we had it up to 21lbs.. and the least of our worries was the tranny...and that car ran for about 3 years. The Gtranny is the strongest next to the H in the turbo probe/mx6's. But if u really want a bullet proof tranny, you should look into the G tranny that comes in the sephia.. those are what all the Puerto rico guys use on all their 9-10sec. cars.

Thank you JTIB........

The festiva trans in my friends car is what is keeping him from 13 seconds(oh and the 3 12in subs, but those are coming out). He has to let the clutch take ALL the impact when shifting so he does not grenade his trans.

If blow the trans I get the BP with, I will just go with a Sephia trans.

The torque of the Bp is so perfect with the light weight chassis of the festiva.

Mounting the BP in my car is nothing to worry about, it is just the wiring. My Tiva is carbed, so I will have to do a complete over hall of my ca's wiring.

There is a Festiva for sale on our forum that runs a 12.1 second 1/4 mile. Kickass huh?
His car has a BP engine/trans, turboed, with some go fast goodies. $3100 is the price.

Actually Mr. Festiva Shoebox bad ass, people are simply giving their opinion on your car. Why? Because you posted pics on a public forum. If you posted it thinking everyone would love it then you live in your own world filled with rainbows and unicorns. You getting defensive about it just makes you look more like a moron. W00 people don't like it. So what? It's what YOU wanted. YOU paid for it. YOU own the keys to it and drive it. If you actually give a sh!t about what people think about it then maybe you should have kept the pics to yourself.

Now, me personally, I think its pretty cool because it is different. Do I like Festivas? Not really, but if it was me I would swap that engine in it and spray the dog balls out of it. Nitrous FTW.

JTIB I would be willing to buy your engine, trans, and ecu! Are you really thinking about swapping to V6?

My friend(silver Festiva w/BP) told me that he got his sh!t rocked by a 323 that he thinks was kl-ze swapped.

Let me know if your swapping!

Reps for two things: 1. Doing something different. 2. Realizing that it doesn't matter what the idiots on this forum think of YOUR car.

Make that beater a festiva, and swap your own BP into it!

Festivas are at a crucial point in their life right now because they are being sold at very low prices. They could either go to someone who will love them, or a 16year old who had enough money to get one, and precedes to beat the snot out of it.

I would love for you to get a festiva and spew all of your mazda expertise on it.

Let me know if I should keep my eye out.

You should really screw with people by dropping an entire 323 gtr setup in that car, leave it badged as a festiva and make people cry as you smoke them with an awd festiva lol Ahhh the tears i see ahead

Then again you can always got 2.5l Kl or Klze v6 torque like a ***** and enough hp to keep you moving

People say that the KLZEs physically dont fit in the engine bay. The festiva has a solid rear axle suspension, so it would be lots of fab to get it awd. It would be sweet though.

Nice Festiva, its an interesting car.

Speaking of 323s, there is one down the street from me for $1250. Are there any enthusiast sites for them so I could learn more about them or look at some modified ones? I'm considering buying it as a daily driver/toy.
