Someone hit me in a parking lot and the rear bumper is cracked. I got a new tail light already and I bought some putty from Autozone and filled in the crack. I'm waiting on it to dry and I'm going to sand it down and paint over it with some paint I also bought from Autozone. Am I going in the right direction? And are there any problems I'm going to run into? Here are some pictures:

so far its been alright. it doesn't look that bad. but i will eventually get it professionally done. this is just kind of temporary.

The right direction would have been to insist that their insurance pay for it. If it was a hit and run, then I would have insisted that my insurance cover it as a hit and run, and if they raised my rates I would have dropped them the same day I got the letter.

But, obviously that's a headache, you know, making insurance companies do what you pay them to do.

get the rear bumper from certifit aka sort of fit....
take it to a shop to match the paint and let
them paint it then slap it on...
or
go to a junk yard and hope they have a bumper
with the same color....good luck
