So my current car has so many problems, I'm really tired of putting tons of money in it. It's a never ending money hole. So I want to just go out and get a car note, I figured if I spending 400-600 dollars fixing the damn car I could use that money towards a newer/better car. Only problem is.....I can't seem to get approved for a car loan!! I have tried Capitol One already. I really don't want to run up my credit, so does any one know any good places I can try?

honestly the best thing you can do is to go as long as possible without a loan. No chance you can save some moola up and use that to buy a decent used car??

I would never use anything but a credit union for my car loans. I hate all aspects of capitol one.

You ever think about trying a public auto auction or police auction? Might be a lot less expensive...

Ever try peer to peer loans?(forgot the exact name though). Here is a link to one of the sites that do this. http://www.prosper.com/

What's your credit score? Past credit history?

What's your credit score? Past credit history?Limited credit. I have "Good" credit for what I have....but I don't have much of a credit history yet. I think it's like 640 or something...

I know you have been trying to save but please please consider NOT getting a loan. even if you can save only 2k...thats more then enough to buy a decent older used car. Then you can always save more and sell the car and buy a better one...and so on and so on. Trust me when I say that getting into a car loan is way more then it's worth.

Used car loans are a ripoff. Try to get a personal loan. Buy a car with cash. You'll have an instantly cleared title. Get liability.

You think? With a credit score of 640 you wouldn't be getting turned away for a car loan. Go get a credit report (annualcreditreport.com). Credit is power in today's world, no reason to be unimformed about your own status

if you have a 640 credit score I find it hard to believe you are getting turned down. Have you tried getting the laon through a dealership?

With less of a credit score than you have I got my Jimmy off the lot brand new in 99 with a 2.9 intrest rate, then I got the used crapalier for 4.9 off the lot. By the time I got the crapalier I was about 700 though.
