I think thats the temp sensor for the cluster and ECU. My wires broke off mine today so I really have to figure that out.

EDIT its for the ECU.

the two broke wires are the ECU temp sensor and the yelow is the temp sesor. car runs like **** if its not plugged in. it'll try to shut off at idle. :gay:

That's the engine coolant temperature sensor, or what some might call a TW sensor.

Without it the car can run pig rich because the ECU lacks the input to know how hot the coolant is. It can also make recranking the vehicle very hard after the engine is warmed up.

The sensor that tells the guage cluster is a temp sending unit, and has only one wire.

They are broken a bit too deep in the plug IMO to retape them.

Best bet is to see if you can push the pins back through the plug, and then resoldier the pins back onto the wires, and then repin the plug.

If not then find any other plug from a junk car that matches, and cut the plug off with at least 6 inches of wire, then soldier the "new" plug onto your existing engine harness.

:D

BTW I meant to tell you that the sensor itself is fine, and that it's actually the plug on your harness that would need to be replaced. I meant to say that in my original post/reply.

Obviously with it not plugged in you'll have the same symptoms as if the sensor was bad, which would be the running rich, hard to start after engine is hot, etc.
